Kim,
On the show where you designed an asian inspired office/den where the homeowner's second story landing was, you dismantled a cupboard and in it's place constructed a type of window seat lounge. Weren't you worried about the safety aspects considering this area overlooked a 2 1/2 story foyer and the homeowners had two small children. I could just see them bouncing on this like a trampoline and going over that small ledge- I was terrified.

Hi Kim,

I bought a new home and need to decorate the whole house. My bedroom window treatment is my dilema. I purchased a rust/gold paisley design comforter set and gold sheers for the windows. Should I use a print drape or solid drape? I also need help because there is one large picture window, a door to the deck and to regular sized windows. How do I decide on the style, scarf, valances, etc.???? Confused..........

Julie B. I thought of the samething. I liked the design but that element with the seating and realizing that there were small children haunted my mind and I thought of this issue again yesterday before reading this blog. I didn't think Kim made the right decision on this but I did like the room overall.

Help!! I'm sure I'm just one of thousands that have ask you for help and advice. We have been remodeling our home. (Tearing down walls, painting, etc. Now I have my living room open to my dining room. This is where I need help. I have inherited a antique couch, chair, and dining room set. I would like to use them but not with
the antique looking material they have. Instead, I would like the material to be something bright and colorful. Living on a teacher's salary and soon retiring after 36 years of teaching, I can't afford to spend money upholstering all these and not liking them. I like the antique furniture--just not the look. Is there something called --modern antique or traditional cottage? I know it sounds crazy! Ha! Seriously, I would appreciate any advice. Would love to send you pictures.
Love you ideas!!

Hi Kim,

My sister in law has recently converted the attic space into a bedroom. The dilemma is that most of the walls are angled to the roof pitch, with only one useable wall for hanging pictures. Do you have an innovative way to show off art on the angled walls without hanging the pictures on the low half? Appreciate any advice, and have pictures if needed!

Hi Kim,
We love the Scot and Summer show just aired August 21st. We ran out and purchased frames and material and got busy. We googled the show to find out how you hung the wall art and could not find any tips. Can you tell us the best way to hang this artwork? Is it better to connect as one big unit or hang as seperate pictures?

Having recently purchased a townhome created several issues I need help with. First question I have is what to do with the top of the stairs where it is open and has both doors to the bedrooms (2). I have thought about a curio cabinet or mirror? I am not sure about either since the area is dark and so closed-in looking.

Can you help or give me any suggestions?
Thank you!

I have just painted my 17 year old daughters room the top half is apple green from lowes and the bottom half is wood, I stained it a dark walnut (several coats). The floors are old oak hard wood. She has an old iron bed what color would you paint it and what other colors would you use for beading, window treatment and other (wall) decor?
Thank You
Julie

Hi Kim,

I look at your programme from the inception I live in the Caribbean Trinidad and Tobago to be exact. I have a problem because my living room set is blue and sometimes I find it difficult to match drapery and also putting stuff together.

Every time I watch this show I have great hopes. And Kim almost gets it. Then she will make something like a light fixture out of paper clips and I am disappointed again! Thank goodness her carpenter is there to save many design "mistakes".
