Hi Kim,

I am looking at portable kitchen islands for extra storage space.I have a problem choosing the color of the island. My cabinets are dark cherry with granite type counter tops (browns, tans & black). My kitchen & dining room are next to each other. My kitchen chairs, applinaces & art work have earth tones(reds, browns, greens, golds, tans, & black). Dining room furniture is black. I want to tie the two rooms together with the island. What color would tie the 2 rooms together?

Hello Kim, I just want to say I love your show and your hairstyle. Now for the designer question when putting down stick on tile do you have to remove whatever material is on the floor. Like old fashioned linnolean.

Hi Kim, Five years ago while the oven was self cleaning I went for a jog, only to come back to a house full of smoke!! The firemen forced it open with a crow bar and destroyed my lower oven, my husband refused to buy a new stove because someday we would do the entire kitchen. So I sewed a fabric drape to cover the whole mess,I change the fabric to go with the season!! Two years later the dishwasher went dead---with two girls in college, this kitchen was never going to happen. Well, I'm writing to you because I need your HELP, college is done and I am ready!! We live in Warren Twsp ,New Jersey in a very old Dutch Colonial, the home has alot of character, field stone fireplace, radon width floors, beamed ceilings---so I need a new kitchen that flows withthe rest of the house. I am so desperate I need your help please--thank God for the grill!! Hope to hear from you, thanxs

How do we qualify to have you come and redesign a space for us? I have fallen in love with your creativity, style, Anthony's skills and execution of your designs, and your personality. We're hoping to adopt 2 teenagers within the next year, and I'm thinking it would be quite an added blessing to have you re-design their rooms for them. Thanks! Julie Smith

Hi Kim,
I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE your show! My question is this--Do you have any ideas for kitchen backsplashes on a very low budget?

I have a problem understanding Kim on her live blogs. It sounds like she is talking in a water tank and her words are not clear. Is there anything that can be done to correct this problem? Thanks,
Kat

I can't find your show shown on 8/28/08 about the kitchen with the green paint walls and white tile countertop and open shelving on the internet video.

Hi Kim
I am looking for the episode when you did the kitchen with open shelves rather than upper cabinets. I wanted to show it to the kitchen designer. I just loved it. My kitchen is small and I think that it will work well. Thanks Zara

Hi Kim love the show and I love playing with decorating. In my kitchen I have laminate cabinets that wonderful 70s oak and lovely yellow laminate counters. I painted my cabinets with a sage green metalic paint and the bases a light charcoal grey with little accents of a metalic blue and dark cherry red. Iwas suprised the old grain shows through and the metallic picks up light and it worked. I also had some small tile sheets that I found at a dump site the color was dull so I painted them with my metalics and the red and some silver spray paint . Next I thought it might be nice to cover one of my counter areas with some skim stone and I was wondering if I could use ground glass [sold by the recycled glass folks]to give the look of recycled glass counter-top?

I saw the episode with the green walls and open shelves done in the kitchen. I also noticed that instead of matching the wood floor where the kitchen cabinet was removed, un-matched tile was installed there instead. How awful to have that kind of error right in the middle of your kitchen. With all the availabile wood and/or folks able to stain match the existing floor, why was tile used to "patch" this area instead? It just looked horrible and unprofessional!
