Super great tips, Kim. Thank you. I can't wait until my family and I get a place of our own again to use these tips...especially the hidden toy one. I have three kids and plastic bins overflowing of toys. It's time to downsize them. Keep up the great work!

I have a mauve leather couch and a brown big chair and ottoman. I have a dark room with little light. My carpet is off white and my woodwork matches the carpet.

I have grass cloth on the walls that is outdated pinks and blues! Now I either want to strip it and paint the room or just paint over the grass cloth!

Should I paint it one color? (matching the trim) should I find a way to light the room better. I had an electrician here and he said adding recessed light to my popcorn ceiling is not something he wants to do!

So... I need to brighten this dark room and keep it in a modern theme! My sofa is large (a sectional) and I am so mixed up as to how I brighten this room! Help!

We're moving into a new house with a large playroom above the garage (and connects to the kitchen below by a back staircase). How do I prevent it from becoming a "catch all" for all the junk in our house? The room is large, 23x23. Can it still be stylish with a slip-covered sofa? Any other tips as we plan? Thanks.

Kim, You have some great ideas, but my comment is that a picture with your explanations would be very helpful. Some people are very visual and an explanation isn't enough for them.

Hey Kim, the family (7) has lived in this house for 12 years. We have alot of visiters and alot of parties. If you ask me, the house needs a total makeover. The living room is crowded with the baby's toys, the dinning room is "out of order" (as dad qoutes), the upstairs bathroom is just plain, the basement is crowded with books colthes and boxes of MORE TOYS, and the kitchen is small and congested-looking. One of the girl's Birthday is coming up and she planning to have the biggest bash ever, so instead of having to put toys in bags to clean up, please help us to just have to dust down the place, you know to make it look gooood!!! I'd prefer a type modern and transitional type, Neutral colored home with a bit of red. PLEASE HELP!!!

Kim,

I love color and do a good job of using it on the walls. However, I am terrible at adding the accessories. I would love to send a picture of my chocolate/aqua blue living room that is in need of some jewelry. I would love the accent color to incorporate white and orange. Please help me add sparkle and take my room to the next level. PS. I loved the chandelier you wrapped with ribbon in one of your rooms. How do I send picture.
Thanks, Celeste
