Hi Kim...I have a garden question.
Our house is a side split with yellowish brick and
browin roof, our deck is stains taupe and our sofa and chairs are chocolate brown. The brick deck has a white iron table and matching chairs and 2 lounge chairs, there is also a white water feature, I would like to paint the tabe, chairs black or should it be chocolate brown.
Waiting for your response, thanks!

I think helping people with there questions is awsome. your great! I have been trying to find the right paint colors for my kicthen, living room, They are somewhat open to each other. There's one wall pariewinkle blue in the living room. I was thinking one wall red in the kichten and neutral brown for the hallways and the rest of the walls. Do you think these colors work together.I never see these two colors use together.why?

Hi Kim, first you are adorable, love your smile! My problem is: open floor LV/DIN room plan, long not too wide and a 60" TV which I have to sit catty corner between two sliders. I have a sofa and love seat and cannot arrange this room and am so frustrated I could throw the TV out. Any ideas?

hi kim, i love your outside the box designing. i will never forget the flowers you made out of paperplates - talk about off the cuff! heres my question for you - which has everything to do with design, just outside. we're having an outside garden wedding this fall and i need to hide the area of the backyard where we have 2 14x14 dog pens. the dogs will be elsewhere for the day, but i just dont have any room to store the pens, so they have to stay put. i really need some cheap & easy to make ideas to hide the pens. can you help me?

Hi Kim, I have a question for you. My livng room is 16 by 24. I have a rock fireplace set in one of the corners and a bar that seperates the living rm from the kitchen. what colors should I use in the living room to give it a more airy and open feel?

Posted by courtie – April 9, 2008 5:55 PM

Hey Kim!
I absolutely love your show. Challenging bedroom makeover question. My room is still the mauve-y/pink color since I was seven, that includes walls and carpet. I'd like to update my small room to incorporate my more mature style. I have a relaxed style that falls somewhere between the urban-rock theme to a nature-zen feel. What is the best way to incorporate the two extremes into my new room? What colors are best? I know we're changing the flooring, any suggestions?

I love your bold and yet simple design style. My problem is an old white brick fireplace that desperately needs an update. I know I will need a new mantle and finish to the front but dont want to spend a lot . How can I get a clean and lasting style by doing it myself without paying too much. Can I do it for under 500. ?

Hi Kim! I was trilled when you won and have followed you since along with some others my husband and I like. (You won me with the double wide with the hut bar and the extras you did for them!) You & your ideas are like a fresh breath of air which is wonderful. I love to help others and mostly on a "no budget to speak of" situation. Keep up the great work. Pam

Kim, what a doll you are. I was rooting for you from the begining! I, too, am a stylist who loves to design. In my small town, in Oklahoma, I am called on to help design for others. They come into my salon and immediatly start asking about it's design and how I did certain elements. Any way, I LOVE watching you. You are a great addition to HGTV! Jenetta

Hi,
I have a small kitchen, with a cabinet above the sink, a cabinet counter that slides for pots/pans, and a cove on a side wall for dishes. My stove and refrig. both set against a side wall. Can you give me some ideas to open up the space and make it seem bigger.
Thanks

Kim, love your new show and your easy breezy style! We have painted our great room and kitchen yellow but now are being told to use only neutrals. I realize this goes back and forth but since we plan to stay here "a while," are we OK to keep it? Do we need to paint before we sell? Thanks for your help!

Hi Kim, I have read that you may have some good ideas for me. I still love cottage and country looks. I love the shabby chic look. However it may be too uncluttered for me. I am not a lover of very modern design. Though I can appreciate the beauty of the room.
What is your favorite combinations for Hot Pink.? Try Hot coral Pink?.
I am crazy for Pink. I would like to use small amounts of it as a coral pink in my small cottage like kitchen. Everything is white there. I can paint the floors again. I can change counters, paint cabinets, etc.
I have started with some coral hot pink flowers that I have selected. I do like the impact of pink against white. I could not take too much of pink if it were painted on the wall. If straw hats with flowers are not out maybe that or a white wreath with these flowers?
Tan like tones are okay. Beige also.
I do love greens and blues as well. I love black and white.
I do not allow true red or true orange in my house.

I like to do crafts, mosaics, etc. Can you help me with my kitchen.

Hi Kim

I am from Trinidad, West Indies. I have a small kitchen which I would like to do over. Can you tell me what I can do about a semi-circular wall in the kitchen which I would like to have as an accent wall?

Thank you

Hi Kim, I have watched your show since you started, I watched you on the Design Star Show also, I have a problem, I want to paint my kitchen, but it is completely wallpapered. My home was the model home when this area was first built, and they went crazy with wallpaper. I have wall paper in my dinning room and in my foyer. I had it in the master bath but because of the steam it was kind of easy to take down. In my bedroom it was on one wall and I just painted over it. I really don't have much wall space in the kitchen, and really don't know what color to paint it.

Hey Kim,
I was so glad you got your well deserved spot on HGTV. I watched the contests and loved your designs every time. My question for you is this. I saw only part of last week's show and I noticed that you put tile on a brick fireplace, but what I want to know is did you tile over the brick or did the brick have to come down first? I have a brick fireplace in the corner of my great room and I want to tile or put stone on it. I asked one man about tiling it and he said we would have to tear all the brick off first. Give me your opinion, please.
Thanks,
Your Devoted Fan, Beverly

I just wrote, but there was some sort of error, so I try again.

Why of Why the gray floors on today's show....... It looked fabulous, I just don't understand why gray would look that great with the yellow bands, on the walls, and the rug, which didn't seem to go with gray.... It all looked wonderful, I would just love to know what inspired the gray color?

Thank you so much,
Eloise in Spokane......
