Love your show. You seem so relaxed in front of the camera. I am so glad that you won as I don't think I could take your opponent's designs. He was so hyper!
I have a statement and a question. I am in the process of planning a bathroom/laundry room in our old house (1862). We presently have a powder room in part of the space we will be using. I think that the room will measure 11 X 6 (maybe 7). Do you think I can add a shower and washer/dry to this and make it look non crowded?
Keep up the great work> Mary

Hi Kim, I love your creative ideas. I just bought a house needing lots of TLC. What should I do to bring out the beauty in this home that is so dated? I'm on a limited budget. I love the wow factor in your designs, what areas should I tackle first? I really want to surprise my daughter who is away to college. How can I win one of your designs?

Thanks

Hi Kim, I just love watching you on TV...haven't missed a show yet. My question is, I have a narrow kitchen, which I can not decide on the perfect backsplash. I currently have a beige colored granite countertop with black appliance. Do you think small glass tiles would acceptable or would that be too much black? Or should I try using a slate tile, and if so, what color would be a good combination?
Thanks Kim. I look forward to hearing from you.
One of your biggest fans.

Hi Kim,

First let me say, I just love your show. Me and my sister watch it every week and we've got some great ideas.

What I need to know is on the 4/3/08 episode, you made a beautiful chandelier. What did you use to attached the bulbs to and where can I get it. I really want to try the chandelier.

Love what your doing for these homeowners. Last night you did a room for a couple of guys. The jobe you did on the light over the table with the xmas bulbs was beautiful. I loved it, of course as well as the rest of the room.... Keep it up! Love, Love the show...Carol

Congratulations! It was a tough competition. We have been waiting for your show and now is finally here. Your personality and great attitude won my heart. Your style and creativity won my admiration and amaze. I already programed my TV to record all your shows. Any suggestions on what recycled items and flea market finds may be used to set up an office & guest room? The room has vertical blinds. Can I add additional window treatment? If so, what kind?

Dear Kim,

I was so happy you won the design contest!! To me, you are the most down to earth person on TV. I love how you take ordinary things to incorporate style. It is truly amazing how your imagination works. You have such charm and poise on the show, I love it! I wish you all the success in the world.

My husband is a disabled vet and has recently become a double amputee. We bought our double wide last year and he has not been able to utilize the bath as it is not handicap accessable yet. Right now we have not got the funds to do this even though the VA has a grant for $4100. Our problem is to find someone who can do it for that amount and wait for their money. Do you have any suggestions for me for the time being? I've been giving bed baths and shampooing his hair from the bed also.

I appreciate any information you can offer.

Good luck and thank you,

Kim,
First of all-congratulations on your new show. I absolutely love your design style, and your personality invites and welcomes the viewers.

My design dilemma is- I have a small living room, which I love with a a modern vintage appeal with some african pieces here and there. Most of my home has bits of African inspired pieces. I love the ethnicity of my home, and I love simple elegance too. I like vintage, but on a modern day level. Question-I am a poet, and I have a poetry/picture gallery. All of the pics are in black and white that hang over a black asian table.

The table has black and off white accsesories with pops of red here and there. My sofa sits across the other side of the room, it's a natural tweed with real fine specs of black in it. I have a small photo gallery behind the sofa. The 3 frames 11x14 with natural matting and 5x7 pic space. The pics are in an antique black & white; the problem is there is too much space underneath, which makes the wall look bare. My sofa has that modern vintage look, and it has a low back which doesn't help. I was wondering what I could add to fill up the space.

My thoughts were:#1. add square cubes and put mini vases underneath each pic. #2.more pics in smaller frames underneath. #3. a narrow table to put behind thw sofa with maybe a few accents on top. I have some table lamps with chrome bases, black shades w, brwn dots, that I thought would look nice. The sofa has chrome legs. #4. I thought of one of those bamboo floor pieces that stand by themselves behind the sofa.

I don't know-can you help a sista out-PLEASE???
