Kim, you are a natural! You seem so relaxed in front of the camera, as if you've been doing it for years. Plus, you are a pleasure to watch. You're beautiful and talented. Congratulations on your new show.

Hi Kim,

I love your show!!!!!!!!!
How can I be considered for one of your designing projects?
I am 41 years old and recently starting over. I was divorced in April 2007 and lost my mom August of 2007 to a stoke after helping my Dad take care of her for the last 4 years.
I have been giving a small apartment in a rental property that my Dad own's and have free riegn to do what I want. I want to make this place beautiful for my son and I. I have most of the furniture I need. Can you come and help me put it together? This would really mean a lot.
I live in Chicago Illinois. My phone number is 773-790-8007 or 773-626-1272.

Kim, I have to tell you that you are the reason I even bother paying for cable! I have been watching HGTV for years and its gotten to the point where I can pretty much predict what designers will do when they go into a space. Your designs are totally crazy and they somehow pull together to be even more amazing then I could have expected! And I love the tips you give on the show; you really empower your audience to do amazing things! Thank you!

Kim,

I have a fireplace of OLD brick, I would like to update the brick. My thinking is cover it with a service (concrete look) then paint it. I want to hang my flat screen TV over the fireplace. What surfaces are available that I can do myself???

Hi Kim, it was so exciting to know you were going to win before you were picked..you rock Girl...I have a question. I have dark panaling and want to either paint it or paper it..my husband loves the paneling and I am having a hard time changing his mind, but what is the right solution that we both will be happy with? thanks, Renee'

Hi Kim!
I love your show...you are so talented! I love that you use things & decorate like a "real person" who actually has a budget...like me. I have a question for you. I have been working on my "great room" for a few years now and finally have the money saved up for wood floors. My husband & I are trying to agree on a color..light or dark?? The walls are painted a "sand" color( kind of golden cast to it), the furniture is dark brown leather, glass coffee table, dark wood end table. I have red curtains (with small gold pin stripe) on black rods, red accent pillows (with gold circles), tone on tone gold pillows & blue/green pillows with gold stripe. The blue green is also the color of my table lamps with white shades. I have my son's photography matted in white with black frames as the artwork. Sooooo..I'm thinking a lighter floor would make the room seem bigger and not so dark..also the furniture would contrast against it and not disappear. I do want to put down some kind of shag rug..I was thinking cream or white..but have a family and don't want to be a slave to cleaning the rug!! My husband likes the color of a brazilian cherry floor (I love it too!) But it seems like it would be too dark for this room. What it your opinion?
Thanks....Kim

Hi Kim, enjoying your info, would like to know if you have plans for theme decorating. Like french country and love new ideas to make it better, love to repurpose items, such as old doors and windows, low budget wonders! As a novice painter, paint rooster and love to stencil and add drama to every room as well as outside. thanks for your input. frances

Hi Kim,
We have moved in to a house that has a fireplace with shelves, and doors with wiindows. Now are livingroom is huge with crown molding on the cieling. And we just don't know how to decorate it to make it a focal point because it is so huge

What is your opinion on our decor delema?

Posted by elizabeth – April 8, 2008 6:31 PM

Kim, I just moved into my dream retirement home, after working several jobs and for many years we would like to make this our own paradise. See we are from the Caribbean and our theme is somewhat all caribbean water sand, palm trees, coconut trees, rocks and all natural surroundings. Our home is beautiful, but it needs some finishing touch, such as the backsplash, I love the glass tiles, but do ot know how to coordinate it so that it stands out. Everyone loves our kitchen cabinets and the granite counter top with a breakfast bar. Please help me do this. I await your comments.
