I was looking through the products used in the Blog Cabin, and noticed these ceiling fans. A new ceiling fan is an easy way to update a room. The Panama fan has five blades, a first in the the industry. You can now customize your design. Choose your blade color or style, light fixture, and glass. There are ten different motor finishes that include Architectural White, Weathered Copper and Matte Black.
This is the same fan with a different look.

I love this outdoor lamp from Frontgate. It is called the Montego Outdoor Lamp, and it has a combination of natural marble and solid brass construction. It includes an all-weather Sunbrella shade and is UL- listed for outdoor use. I think it would make a beautiful addition to your porch or patio. The Montego Outdoor Lamp is listed at $400 in their catalog, but is on sale for $299.

The folks at blackandlightco have probably given up on me reviewing the candles they sent. They generously sent me a few candle samples back in February and wanted my honest opinion of them.
First of all, I love their company story. Holly Eve was an elementary school teacher for twenty-five years. She couldn't find candles she wanted, so she was inspired to start her own line of candles. The second thing I love is that their candles are unscented. This allows you to really enjoy candles as an accent like other things you have carefully chosen to go in your room. There are times that I want pretty candle light, but most of my candles are scented. A variety of scents really overwhelms the mood, and often I am allergic to the scents that go with the colors I like. The third thing I like is the product. I went to their website, and all the candles are super-cute. There are dots and swirls and other precious, but stylish, designs. Blackandlightco really understands using candles as decoration or a focal point.
It is always disappointing when you receive something you ordered online and it doesn't live up to your expectations. This will not happen with blackandlightco. products. They come in a very nice shipping box, wrapped in tissue paper with shredded paper to protect the candles. Each candle comes in its own stylish box with easy-to-peel-off logo stickers. They encourage you to find another use for the box and recycle it.
I understand why the company sent out samples. It is hard to explain to anyone the quality without having the product in hand. The candles should give you up to 15 hours of burn time per inch, and beautiful with detailed design and patterns. Candles start around $40.

I have noticed a big push towards "natural looking" home products. These Birch pillar candles are great alternatives to traditional holiday décor. These candles come in a natural palette, and the birch bark exterior makes for an elemental and organic look. Available in two sizes: 3" x 6" or 6" x 3". Made of paraffin wax. Priced less than $15.
For a less expensive option, these pillars are made to look like the bark of a birch tree for a more natural feel. Each candle is wrapped and comes with a small pine cone on top. Available in two sizes: 3" or 6" high. Priced less than $5 each.
THESE ARE NOT THE BIRCH BARK CANDLES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED DUE TO A FIRE HAZARD. Learn more about those candles here at csps.

The mini gourd and pumpkin candles look fresh from the farmer's market and come in lovely fall colors like soft oranges, reds and pale green. The other day I asked my daughter, who absolutely loves spooky things, which was her favorite holiday. She said HALLOWEEN, then Christmas. I feel the same way, at least when it comes to decorating – Halloween has a lot more interesting options, especially the past few years. Growing up, my family had a pumpkin outside on the porch and maybe a ghost made from a sheet. Today, the decorations you buy are the same type of things we saw decorating the set of Tales from the Crypt. Take these black candle holders, for example. They are constructed of powder-coated aluminum with a glossy black finish. They look like something Dracula would have in his home. What a fun, spooky centerpiece for Halloween party parties or decorations. Priced less than $25.

My friends re-did their den last month, and she was looking for lamps. I suggested she look at a lighting website. You can get an idea of what is out there, and what you want. I have found nice lamps at lighting galleries, furniture stores, discount stores, department stores, off-price retailers and every where in between. The problem is most of these places do not have a wide variety of lamps. I haven't seen her final selection, but I found this one at website I use for gifts. I wouldn't have thought to look there. Priced less than $100.

Birthday lists tell a lot about you. My husband always has a wish lists of books, DVDs and CDs ready and waiting if anyone wants to buy him a present. I am not that helpful. I like most things, and sort of think getting all my presents off my list leaves little room for surprise. Wait, thinking back over some of the random gifts I've been given, MAYBE leaving little room for surprise is a good thing. My birthday list usually consists of a few things I wanted to buy myself, but didn't so that I would have a list. Last year I wanted a silicone rolling pin. This year the list includes things like a lasagna server and battery operated candles.
Every since I first saw these in Brookstone last Christmas, I knew that I "needed" some of the flameless candles. I liked this style because they more like real candles. This candle contains three LEDs that produce multiple points of randomly shifting light, creating a glow that flickers, rolls, and casts dancing shadows, just like a real candle flame. It also looks like it's really melting without the flame so you can have piece of mind that they are safe around your kids and will not cause a fire. Priced around $40.
Tell me about your birthday list. Is it exciting, or is it full put practical things that are easy to buy? Do you have a computer registry ready to go all the time, or do you come up

July 4th is such a fun holiday. We went to the fireworks store over the weekend. We bought sparklers, snap and pops and a few other minor fireworks. With the drought in our area, we did not purchase anything that flies up in the air and shoots sparks. We didn't want to be the ones to set the neighborhood on fire. I do not think Hallmark makes a card for that yet.
I need to figure out where to hang these cute lanterns. We were at a party over the weekend that had these hanging outside. They look so cool. I bet they would look great off the ceiling of a screened-in porch. A set of three is priced less than $15.
I just love this really cute patriotic table-topper set. Add some hamburgers, chips and a watermelon, and you are ready to celebrate. You get a tablecloth, table-topper and two packages of napkins. Available in either blue or red. Priced less than $70 for the set.
If you throw a lot of parties, Grandin Road has customized disposable cups and beverage napkins with your three-letter monogram or a special greeting for guests. This allows you to really add a personal touch to your outdoor party. Each party accessory comes in convenient sets of 100 to cater to large-scale, outdoor entertaining. While the only party I threw for 100 people was my wedding reception, it would be fun to have some personalized plastic cups to use year-round. Probably not $100 worth of fun, but it might be. Priced less than $100.
Make patriotic arrangements, give the kids their own flags or decorate around the house with this set of 30 cotton mini-flags. I saw a vase just full of flags at a business the other day. That has to be the easiest way to make a centerpiece I've seen in a long time. On clearance for $10.
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4th OF JULY!

Candles provide wonderful ambiance, but they are inherently dangerous. Unattended candles at a friend’s house dripped from the mantle all the way down to the hearth in a stalagtite fashion. Luckily, a messy clean-up was all that happened. There could have been a fire.
It is shocking to wake up or come home, and realize a candle was left burning. I have a small child, and she is attracted to candles like a moth to a flame. Vessel has created a rechargeable, LCD battery-operated candle called the Candela. It offers 8 hours of run-time after a full charge, safe for indoor and outdoor use, safe to the touch, and it comes on automatically when the power goes out. According to their website, they are more economical than votive candles. They also do not leave the soot stain on ceilings you get from traditional candles. The rechargeable batteries are replaceable. Two Candelas are priced under $50. They sell covers to add color for under $5.
There is also a fun, colorful version called the Candloo. It is targeted more towards children. It is also priced around $50 for
