Off to see the Wizard.

Posted by etipton – September 2, 2008 1:42 PM

The Wizard Lizard is a fun addition to any bath. Fill the lizard up with soap, shampoo, conditioner or shower gel and watch how eager your child will be to take a shower. There are four powerful, suction-cups that stick to most bathroom surfaces. This refillable bathroom gadget dispenses liquid soaps and shampoos from the pet's mouth. But don't worry, a plastic stopper automatically closes to keep the contents inside even when facing down. This easy-to-squeeze shower pet is the perfect bath time accessory for any child's bathroom. It is available in three different colors, so you can get a different color for each shower product you use. The Wizard Lizard is priced around $15.

Shower Time

Posted by etipton – August 29, 2008 9:17 PM

I know this is supposed to help conserve water, but I think it is better for keeping kids on track in the morning. The timer sticks on the shower wall. Set it when your first get in and the sand runs out in five minutes. If you need more time, flip it over for another five minutes. In the morning it is easy to lose track of time. You aren't quite awake, and next thing you know thirty minutes has passed. The timer helps you save water, and helps you keep better track of your time. The shower timer is priced around $5.

Tiny Bubbles

Posted by etipton – August 29, 2008 4:01 PM

By combining multiple functions into a single device, the Water Flo provides a simple solution to several bath-time challenges. It diverts the flow of water in order to make a gentle waterfall to protect kids from hitting the faucet in the bath, while also functioning as a bubble-bath dispenser. Just fill the reservoir, and let the children dispense the bubble bath into the water by pressing the button on the front. The Water Flo attaches easily to the bathtub faucet with a spring-activated grip that requires no assembly or special installation. The Water Flo is priced around $15.

My tub runneth over.

Posted by etipton – August 29, 2008 11:54 AM

As a mom you have so many things happening at once it is hard to keep up with them all. You might be watching your child, cooking dinner, taking a phone call and running some bath water all at the same time. It is easy to let dinner burn or the bath tub run over. This Safety Fish alarm helps with one piece of the puzzle. It tells when the bath water has reached the desired level. Once the water reaches the Safety Fish, it will sound off an alarm. This is great for getting baths ready, but can also work with older children. As a child, my sister got distracted once, and let our tub overflow. My parents were lucky. Our bathtub was over the garage, so the water didn't ruin carpets or ceilings. Of course, this is no substitute for parental supervision, and NEVER leave children unattended near water. This is for watching your bath water, it has nothing to do with watching your children. The Safety Fish is priced around $10.

Just Beachy.

Posted by etipton – August 4, 2008 2:06 AM

How cute is this Martha Stewart Collection Canvas Beach Tote? I had to get a new bag this year. My bag wasn't big enough to hold all the stuff I wanted to bring to the beach, in addition to all the stuff my daughter requires. I wish I had seen this one first. It is the perfect carryall for a day on the beach. It is a spacious, canvas tote in stylish stripes. The bag measures 24"x10"x15", exclusive of the handle. It has exterior pockets at the ends, and is machine-washable. This bag is currently available in two colors, Sunrise Seafan or Cay Seafan. The Martha Stewart Beach Bag, pictured in Sunrise Seafan, originally $60, is on clearance for about $15.

There are also three beach towels are available right now. Two of the towels coordinate with the Cay Seafan tote, and one towel matches the Sunrise Seafan tote. The Martha Stewart Collection Cay Beach Towels are clearance priced starting at $9.97.

Since this is a clearance sale, I would act quickly if you want one! Click here to view all of Macy's Martha Stewart Collection.

Hook, line and sinker

Posted by etipton – April 24, 2008 7:16 AM

Have you seen the Vapor colors from Kohler? According to their website, the Vapour colors, depending on the light and the surrounding materials and finishes, change from light to dark in color intensity. Vapour colors look like the blue of earth from space, the oranges and pinks of the sunrise or sunset, the purple of dusk, or greens and blues of the shallows in the Caribbean and change colors like how they blend and how they transform when a cloud passes overhead.
The Vapour Green Cape Dory tile-in kitchen sink is priced around $400.

The bold new look...

Posted by etipton – April 4, 2008 8:54 AM

When I think of the Kohler brand, I only think about faucets and bathroom toilets. They have some neat offerings for the Green House. This Archer petite vanity looks like a piece of nice furniture, but still offers all your bathroom needs. It is constructed of Maple solids and veneers with a catalyzed, polyurethane finish. A vanity like this would really change the feel of a bathroom quickly. Priced around $400.

Nothing to sneeze at.

Posted by etipton – January 16, 2008 9:01 AM

Am I the only one who hates Kleenex boxes? Most of the boxes have ugly florals or patterns that have no style. You stand in the store thinking, “which of these boxes can I tolerate for the next six months?” This simple ring fixes all your problems. Part paper weight, part portable hole, Toro is made of ultra-hygienic stainless steel. The ring's absurd simplicity is actually the result of a carefully-engineered balance of weight and size; just right to let one tissue through at a time while staying firmly planted on the stack. What a concept! Priced less than $25.

Bath Time!

Posted by etipton – September 24, 2007 2:59 PM

I love to take a nice bath, but that pesky bath tub drain keeps my water from reaching the desired level. I know, it is a safety feature that keeps me from flooding the house, but who cares? I want a nice hot bath that reaches my shoulders. This deep water bath overflow overrides the drain on your tub allowing for a deeper bath in any tub. The cover attaches with 12 suction cups, and gives you about three more inches of bath water. Priced around $7.

Chance of showers.

Posted by etipton – August 21, 2007 10:59 AM

Chemistry 100 in college was so fun, I had to take it twice. Maybe I would have done better had I had this Periodic Table shower curtain in my bathroom. Perfect for the future scientist, this vinyl shower curtain is machine-washable in cold water on the gentle cycle. Guess that means it is coming home for Mom to wash. It is 71" long x 71" wide. After I picked out this cute shower curtain I saw a preview for the new show The Big Bang Theory on CBS, and this shower curtain was hanging in a bathroom on the show. Also available in weather patterns. Priced around $30.

I am not a big fan of sharing bar soaps, so you might think about using liquid soap when you are sharing bathrooms. But if you like your bar soap, pick up a suction soap holder. They help keep your soap from getting mushy in the puddle of water. Priced less than $5.

Come and knock on our door.

Posted by etipton – August 17, 2007 3:16 PM

Adjusting to roommates is not as fun as they made it seem on Three's Company. When I left for college, I had shared a bathroom with my sister, but that is not the same as sharing one with a perfect stranger. A shower caddy is the first thing you need when sharing a bathroom. The kind you need depends on whether your bathroom is down the hall or in your room. If you are going to put a caddy in the shower, it will need to hold everyone's stuff, not just your own. Look for an over-sized caddy like this one. It has enough space that it can hold multiple shampoo bottles so that everyone can use it. Priced less than $15.

Splish Splash.

Posted by etipton – May 16, 2007 9:11 AM

While tub toys are tons of fun for kids, they are not so fun for parents. We have one bathroom, so many a morning my husband finds all the toys left in the tub from the previous night. I’m sure when he pulls back the curtain he feels a bit like Janet Leigh in Psycho, not knowing exactly what he will find. This wire basket attaches to the wall with suction cups. It allows all the water to drain out of the toys, and has a latch at the bottom for easy release back into the tub. I am sure you can make lots of fun games tossing toys into the basket. TWO POINTS! Priced under $10. bath%20toy.jpg

Curved Shower Rods

Posted by etipton – April 16, 2007 12:25 PM

I think this whole new trend of hotel products for home living is fun. Over the years I have stayed in many nice hotels. I loved their fluffy pillows, soft sheets, super large towels and turn down service. Recently I stayed at a hotel that had a curved shower rod. I had heard of this, but I had never seen one in action. I am a bit claustrophobic, so it was really nice to have a little more space in the shower. It made up for the lack of hot water. These curved shower rods start at less than $50.
