I am not a morning person. I hit snooze in my sleep. It is really bad. Sometimes I wake up, look at the time and realize I turned my alarm off without waking up. Forget snooze - I just turned the whole thing off. Unlike other clocks with which you can easily hit the snooze button and fall back asleep, the Clocky Alarm Clock makes sure you get out of bed. How it works: The alarm goes off once, but if you hit snooze Clocky jumps off your nightstand (up to 3 feet) and wheels around your room looking for a place to hide before it sounds the alarm a second time. The snooze time can be set from 0-9 minutes, so if you set it at 0 Clocky runs right away. Nothing like a little hide-and-seek to get you going in the morning. This is a perfect gift for the teenager who won't get up in the mornings. I wouldn't advise getting one for anyone with a roommate, unless he or she wants to get a new roommate. Priced around $50.

During the holidays you are often cooking things with different baking times. Here is an easy way to time two events at once: the OXO GOOD GRIPS Double Timer. This Dual Timer features a 100-hour digital timer for timing longer events, and a 1-hour analog timer for shorter events. I bought an older version of the dual timer, and one timer was 60 minutes, and the other timer was for 20 minutes. Needless to say, that timer went back to the store.
Set one timer for the baking cycle, and another timer for when to take off the foil, or decrease the temperature. With a second timer, you no longer have to worry about forgetting the rolls you put in with the turkey. Priced less than $20.
