I love the whole concept of a new home give-a-way. The only thing that would make it better is
to build the home where the winner wants it. I
would like it in my home town not some distant
place off. With our economy I would rather have
a paid off home to live in instead of one that I
would have to sell and start all over because it can only be visited once or twice a year.

I can't wait to watch the show when we will learn more about the home The thought of a home that respects the environment excites me. I always do my best to recycle I shred all the paper I can to recycle and I recycle glass and plastic I don't use pesticides (I have dogs) or fertilizers I can't wait to see the program on Sunday

I love this house! The lay-out and all the cool 'green' features make it much more desirable to me than the Dream House in the Keys.
Good Luck to everyone =D

You guys really outdid yourselves with that green home. I love the layout and the furnishings. It looks truly comfortable to live in. My husband loves the look of it, too. And- such a great idea. I plan on entering as often as I can. Good luck to all of us!

What a perfect location for the HGTV Green Home. I like the "small town" idea of Tradition Hilton Head, with its distinct village ambiance---even a proper village square for shopping and entertainment. Sounds ideal to me as a vacation getaway from the big city blues, or just as great for a year-round residence. Count me in! My first entry is already officially submitted. I wouldn't mind being HGTV's first Green Home winner, and I'll be ready for the on camera close-up anytime. Oh, I do have one QUESTION: can I get a golf cart with my initials on it?
Posted by DBCoop – March 21, 2008 12:52 PM
I entered everyday too, but my favorite was last year the cabin in North Carolina, and more than that I was very happy for the man who won.
I also love the green home even more than the home in the keys.

Why is this info on the GH posted on the DH page? If I made a post about the GH on the DH message board, Admin would deleted the thread because it would be considered "off topic".
Can't we keep the two separate on the Blog as well?
Now bring on today's clue for DH09!!

I love the Green Home. The furnishings, colors, and the decor, are much classier than the '08 Dream Home.

I love this home. I am from SC, and it would be wonderful to go back. I only have one complaint about the GH, it's the washer and dryer. They are so low to the ground, that anyone with back problems will have a hard time doing the laundry. Other than that, I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this home it's absolutely gorgeous. Well done HGTV, well done.

I started watching HGTV about one year ago and I can't believe all the wonderful things that I've learned. I also just became a home owner in November 2007, so now I'm glued to this channel!!! When my husband is out of town for his military weekends,I have the tv to myself and its on HGTV all day. I'm addicted! Funny thing is I can't decide on how to decorate my house.
Well,I entered the sweepstakes for the Key West home which is in my State. I kept looking out the front door to see if I was the winner and my husband was making fun of me :0). This time, I'm entering the contest by mail...every day I will send a post card in. I'm determined this time!
Thanks HGTV for all your wonderful shows and ideas!

The green home has got my respect from the design team, builders, architects and anyone else involved in the process. I'm big on recycling and try to make a difference every day to help the environment. This house would be my very first owned home, going on age 50. Best of luck to all that enter.
Posted by Cyndi Roberts – March 22, 2008 12:54 AM
I agree with another comment I just read. If you wont to give something away that is worth while, give the winner the plans and cash for the house of their dreams to be built whereever they wish. Most would build in there hometown where they could afford the upkeep.
Posted by Anonymous – March 22, 2008 1:58 AM
The Green Home is ABSOULTLEY Beautiful! I will be sure to enter everyday and hope to win!! To entrants that have negative coments towards hgtv and the dream home or even the green home, DON'T ENTER! This is a sweepstakes, A SWEEPSTAKES! Reading through the blogs i can not believe some of the negative things posted.
Good Luck!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HGTV!! Designed to sell, can you please come visit please???

HGTV is so addicting - have to watch it every day and love the rooms the designers create! I have never won a thing in my life and would so love to have a shot at the green house win!! I thought you could only enter once on the past home in FLA, so you can bet I'll be entering the "green" home contest every day!! Thanks so much for having HGTV - even though nothing sinks into my head when it comes to redecorating!!!

I love the location of the green home. Last year our family tried for the 1st time to win the dream home... After that my son said how crazy it would be if the house would be located on Hilton Head (We vacation there every year). So I guess our wish came true. Im actually typing this from Hilton Head Right now as my son is on spring break and we decided it would great to come down to Hilton Head:) While we were driving down my son spotted the green home and we were all shocked. Our wish came true and whoever the winner is(Hopefully us....) you will enjoy this house on the beautiful island. We have been coming here for nearly 20 years and my husband and I have been coming here. And now with my son for the past 13. The idea of the eco. friendly home is great and supports and helps the reduce of all of our ecological footprint. Good luck to everyone and the home looks wonderful.

I agree with Shelia Childers... either build the give away home where the winner wants it to be located or give them a home that is completely paid off, taxes and all. These people will have to move away from jobs and or careers not to mention family and friends. It's great to give away a house but if you can't make a living in the new location then how can you make it a home. I have loved every home you've given away, but never entered to win because I thought 'how would my husband and I make a living there?' Seems like I remember the Dream home in Tyler Texas was lost to over due taxes.... what a shame. Not to mention what a loss like that could do to a family. Why not give away a home make over???? Now that's something I'd enter to win. I do like all the great ideas you guys have... let's just make it something more realistic. My cousin who lives in Key West wouldn't even consider entering the contest... she's aware of what the taxes are like down there.

Yes, this home looks beautiful. But to get technical, this home is NOT on Hilton Head. Hilton Head is an island, and this home is probably around 10 (or so) miles from the bridge that takes you to Hilton Head Island. I have noticed, though, that a lot of the businesses in the Tradition area use Hilton Head in their business names. I guess it just sounds better. I live in the area, so I'm aware of this. Good luck to everybody!
Posted by Kathy – March 23, 2008 9:42 AM
This is a beautiful home, and I'm sure everyone is anxious to find out who the lucky winner will be. I'm also aware of how disappointed many viewers were with the award presentation show for the "2008 Dream Home". In contemplating this, I realized that much of what makes the HGTV network popular is the fact that viewers can relate to the people being featured---they're real people with real dreams, problems, challenges, etc., who are presented with ideal solutions by HGTV. We all love watching and seeing ourselves in their place (even when the houses are ten times our price range.) The problem with the Dream Home presentation show is that the viewer is robbed of that interaction. The entire hour is spent in build up to a live presentation that is inevitably a let down because we never get to feel involved in the winner's reaction to the home. Why not drop the "live" presentation, present the home to the winner prior to the announcement (still filming the "surprise" presentation), then spend a week letting us see the winner viewing their new home, cooking in the new kitchen, touring the community, playing in the yard with pets and children, lounging in the family area...in short, doing all those things we imagine ourselves doing if we would have won and allowing us to vicariously share in the winning of a beautiful home? I realize this might require changing some of the "rules, etc." but for both the home winner and for the viewer, it would make for a much more satisfactory experience.
K.P.

Puleees!
HGTV is now showing the tv program for the house in Florida to be given away. I just got on-line to register for the house and lo and behold the house was already given away. Surprise, surprise!
Was this just a ploy to boost HGTV's ratings? Nah! They wouldn't do that, would they? (pure out and out sarcasm by the way) Oh and to you tv execs: this is Easter and ya'll will have egg on your faces when you stand before the man.

At least I can afford the prize taxes for this one. The 2.2 million home would have been sold.
Posted by Randy D – March 23, 2008 10:01 PM
While I appreciate the effort to go green, I agree with some of the others that it's a shame the home isn't valued so the normal working class folk can afford to keep it. I guess selling it after winning would allow the winner to pay the taxes and perhaps build a green dream home of one's own.
Posted by Julie – March 23, 2008 10:11 PM
Ok! I watched the Green Home debut show and was disappointed. There was far to much about the shoping for furnishings than the structure itself. HGTV lost the opportunity to educate about Green building techniques. The tour was much to high paced. I got dizzy trying to keep with the panning of the camera. The show ended and I didn't have a good feel for the floor plan, although I can tell you it sleeps six upstairs. But what about closet space, can anyone tell where the master closet is?
Posted by Erik – March 23, 2008 10:16 PM
I love the way the house uses the natural resources for everyday living, everything is eco-friendly. This house would be perfect here in Puerto Rico too. Anyone would be happy to win such a beautiful house.

I like the green house, but as a crafter, I was disappointed at no space to work. I was an art teacher for 26 years and I was hoping the next creation will have the appropriate space. I like the idea of either giving away a home located where the winner chooses, or a magnificent home makeover. It seems more practical and less wasteful. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. I love HGTV for all your programming.

What are the rules of winning this house? Do you have to live there or could you sell it and use those proceeds on a current house??? I don't see where it says you can't sell it...
Posted by anonymous – March 24, 2008 10:26 AM
The Green Home is beautiful. I too entered the sweepstakes for the beauiful home but will not enter everyday. As much as I would like to win I have concerns if I do. For instance, as part of the rules we should be given an estimate as to how much the taxes and fees will be including annual Real Estate taxes for a home of this value and location. Most people who enter are not from that location and like me, I do not plan on leaving my job or current home. I would use it as a vacation home but if I knew ahead of time that I could not afford it then I would not enter. While this is wonderful of HGTV to "give away" these homes we should be told of all up front cost. I bet there would be less entries and the odds would increase for those who truely can afford to live there. After all it would be ashame for the winner to lose the house shortly after moving in. But the whole concept of winning a home like this is great and equally great of HGTV for doing this. Good luck everyone!

We think the green home idea is terrific. To our knowledge, we didn't think HGTV has done this before, so hopefully this will educate consumers to these various products, thus saving our enviromental resources. It also gives something back in excess materials from the job site that can be recycled being an effective way of using same. The climate contol system is incredible and as my wife has allergies this type home would be wonderful for those people who suffer with those conditions. We love the location in Bluffton, as we have friends who live on and off the island. And the setting you've choosen is amazing with the sunset views from both inside, with all the windows, to obviously the outside patio areas. I'm sure we can all see ourselves sitiing there relaxing with family and friends. This is truly a home where people will enjoy all its surroundings, both inside and out, but also get a payback in its cost of operation through the energy efficient products used in constrution. Best of luck to all who enter as this would truly be a dream come true. Rita & Gene

Well since I did not win my dream home in Islamorada I will enter the Green Home. I will be 55 and have never owned a home. South Carolina is also a great place to live. My nephew lives in Charleston. Lord I know you have this home in mind for me. I would love to own my own home before I die.

I know people, such as myself enter religously in hopes of bettering their future. They make sure they are on the computer every night by midnight and do the same the next day. Its almost like predicting they are going to win. People get very upset at not winning, viewing it as theirs. The thing is its a dream home (or green). If it were entitled to everyone it would be called public housing. Therefore, enter but don't expect to win, expect your neighbor to.

like everybody else i wanted to win this house. you see i live in a trailer 14x70 with 2 bedroom.Like every mother and housewife.I wanted a descent home and a bigger space specially now that i have a four year old boy.You cannot even walk in the living room becouse of his toys. winter time he need to sleep with us, becouse i have to used his room for our winter clothes.nope cannot barrow money from the bank cannot afford to pay it.so if you just want to win this house for the sake of owning another house who do you think deserve it more? nobody else but us. those mother and housewife outhere like me, whose dreaming of having a descent place to live but cannot afford to.or maybe somebody can build a house for me payable for 20 years with out interest. if i dont win this one.keep on praying.

I agree with one of the other commentators, with the way the economy is I think that it would be more logical to have a architect design a dream home to be built within a certain mileage limit of your hometown or some where close to where you live, so that family would actually have a chance to keep the dream home and keep their current job if desired. People could still vote on the house and maybe even customize some of the items to their liking or life style.

I think it's great that hgtv gives us the chance to dream. They build these homes (DH) knowing that you will probably have to sell it, but that makes you more than a millionare to build your own paid for dream life. The taxes arent due for a year, so that gives you the chance to at least have one vacation in it (bonus.) The people that won the house in taylor Tx. got so caught up in the idea of moving up, that they ended up hurting themselves. Hgtv didn't do that to them, don't ever look a gift horse in the mouth. He said he grew up in a big house and has always wanted that feeling back. They took out a million dollar mortgage, but didn't get themselves million dollar jobs. I dont know about you all, but 2.2 mill - 700 thou = 1.5 mill left. I can have a fully financed dream for that.
Thank you HGTV,
california here I come

I'm from SC but live in the mountains of GA now. What a dream come true it would be to return to SC and enjoy all of the wonderful waterfront activities there are! I'm so excited that HGTV finally built an eco-friendly home as I am really into reducing, recycling and reusing and leaving as little of a carbon footprint as possible. I do a lot, but still need to do more. The home is fantastic -- not just beautiful in a design-sense, but because of the eco-friendly products used. I would love to win and will definitely enter every day. I wouldn't sell it either! HGTV take me home!!

Can someone answer this question? How many bedrooms does this home have? This home is just gorgeous! And they always just show the master bedroom and another bedroom just like the home in Florida. I cannot believe that this gorgeous home only has 2 bedrooms.....
But if it does, that fine....I'll just have another bedroom added on. ha!

I have lived in SC my whole life, but I love Hilton Head. Always wanted to visit, but never made it. This green home is perfect for my family. I would have to find a job where I could work from home. Good luck to all who have entered to win. And remember to be thankful for all that you do have.

I agree with how about giving one away that have the taxes paid for? I mean isn't that a better recap story than "the house was sold". And I don't know about everyone else but I still don't have a least $350,000 for the IRS and State Revenue for taxes. Closer than the 2.2 million, but just as out of reach. If you're going to build a house to give away that the winner can't afford to keep, just give them the check instead.
And whomever does win it needs to see a good accountant...you don't have to pay tax on the MSRP, only on the fair market value of what you can reasonably expect to sell it for.

Ok I'm totally obsessed with this house! It really would be my dream house. However like others have commented, I am concerned about the taxes and such; not to mention the MONTHLY HOME OWNERS FEE IN THE SMALL PRINT FOR JUST LIVING IN THE LOCATION! HGTV should let us in on how much the expenses are going to cost the winners. It would be heartbreaking to win this house just to not be able to even live in it, especailly for those of us with families.

I have been vacationing on the coast of North/South Carolina for over 10 years now. I live in cold, long-winters Michigan and would love to relocate to South Carolina. Think of all the money I'll save on those vacations. Living there would be a vacation every day, my dream come true.

I live in South Carolina and I would love to live by the water , I am a cancer survivor and my husband loves to fish with our grand sons ,our daughter moved in with us and the house would be perfect for us. we always wanted to live by the water and the boys would love to roast marsh mellows in the fire pit . My husband is retired and I am semi retired , we love to cook and have family around us the only thing I see missing is a grill out side , but we could fix that and have every one over that built it and designed it, maybe even a fish fry ? Our son is in the Air Force and I know he would love to come home on leave and him and his wife would flip over that house , she loves green. well if we win it will be a miracle but it would be great if we did .

I wish HGTV would rethink the way they have these dream home specials. One would think the Green house was a great chance to teach the country all about Green Design. Instead you heard all kinds of errors that showed that not everyone understands what green design is. Just using green paint does not make a product green. I would have liked to see the manufacturers of the product come on and say how there product is green. I do not understand how they talk about furniture when a green house has very little to do about furniture. In fact you can not get LEED points for furniture. This is a great idea that HGTV had, I just wished they did not waste it.

The green home is just beautiful. It could not have been in a more beautiful and perfect area. I have spent some time in the Hilton Head area and loved it. I really hope my family is honored with winning this home. The business I work for has a location near the Green Home and I would be able to just transfer there. That would be the great! :)Best of luck to everyone who enters.

Beautiful home ! I have fantasies of designing my own home.....a shell of an old barn, with "open concept" living, a huge fireplace centrally located open on both sides right smack in the middle, and a "balcony: on the upper level with two beautiful bedrooms...lots of windows and a view to die for! Nice to dream...Keeps me going :)

I too was disappointed with the Dream Home live give-away show. I felt the winner wasn't excited about the news, but it could be that she was "camera-shy." I too think that she should have been given the news ahead of time, and then have a big celebration, or something different. We were let down at the end of the show. Maybe it will be different this time. I'll make sure to show how excited I am! :)
Good luck everyone! I really hope someone who truly wants and deserves it wins!

Congrats on the Green Home. Would like to see more on single elements we can incorporate into our homes. How about solar panels; heat-as-needed water heaters, etc. How can these green items be put into our existing homes and at what costs. And I agree with others: dream homes are great; but not everyone can afford the taxes on a "giveaway." It would be heart-breaking to win a dream and then have to give it up.

With the focus on the environment taking center stage, I am very happy to see HGTV taking the lead and promoting the many opportunities for building "green". My son is an architect and has always been deeply dedicated to using the knowledge and natural resourses that are available to live in harmony with our environment. While this house is beautiful, the effort and job of recycling and paying homage to the planet is what really is beautiful. We must all continue this effort in our daily lives. Bravo, HGTV.

My family would love a home on the water where we could actually put a boat in. We live as my father- in-law puts it on a "retention pond". However, I still see the glass 1/2 full, the birds and the sun shining on the water are absolutely beautiful. The Green Home is too! We are visiting Hilton Head in July. We love it there. Thanks for the sweepstakes and all of the fantastic shows!

I don't know about you all, but a FREE house is a dream house to me! Stop worrying about the taxes, the HOA fees, the alligators, the moving expenses and others in the past. If someone doesn't like the details, don't enter. This is a FREE house. I think everyone should stop complaining about trival details, and realize what a gift HGTV is doing. No other tv station is giving away free houses, none the less two in one year. Just enter and enjoy folks!

Someone that has just about everything, and really does'nt need it, Let someone that really needs and deserves it, and that will take care of the Green-House.Maybe they will be able to help someone else that is down on their luck. Good-Luck.

I love the feature of the reclaimed water that provides water for irrigation and toilets. In my own home I hate how much water is wasted on a single flush and the fact that people in other countries don't have clean water to drink. I know it sounds gross but I encourage my children to use the toilet a few times before flushing, unless it is a number two or we have guests. It makes more clean up for me and my fiance, but we don't mind if it helps conserve water. Just imagine how much fresh water would be saved if every house had this feature. I live in Western Washington, since we have so much rainfall we could definately benefit from this green feature. Love the house, but agree with many others that taxes would be a major issue. I am young and unsure if taxes are to be paid up front or does this become your new mortgage, and monthly payments are made to the IRS???? Good Luck all! I am entering everyday as well, but who knows who will win! :)

I really feel that its wonderful that HGTV gives people an opportunity to make there Dreams or wishes come true. Its always a pleasure to see people do for others. Its nice to hear others comments and opinions, but for those who write in a negative manner should consider rewording there comments to a more positive manner and just appreciate what HGTV is going through and giving away. I do agree with some of the comments that maybe winners can have a Dream Home built in there home town or were they wish to live. Either way HGTV is giving people a wonderful opportunity.

I have entered in the past, but no luck as of yet. I told my husband and daughter, this "GREEN Home" is the one for us. I have been a conservationist for the past 17 years. I actually work with a agency soil and water conservation. I love everything about the house. The thought of a home that respects the environment is so exciting. I am always recycling and conserving water. I actually just sign a water pledge and got alot of other people to sign it also. I live in South Carolina and this house would be the perfect house for me and my family. I actually dream about it everyday. I have family that lives in Mass., Texas, Ohio, Columbia and North Carolina and they loved Hilton Head, it would be so wonderful to win this house so that I can share it with my family and my friends. I am always watching HGTV and I get great ideas from the show. My whole house needs remodeling since it is about 27 years old. I would like to wish everyone Good Luck, but honestly I hope that I will win this house. It is perfect for me and my family. God Bless and Good Luck to everyone.

This comment is for Sybil.....
I really hope you don't think that this is a "racially selective" sweepstakes. Let's not have this blog fill up with sob stories again. These sweepstakes are just that....sweepstakes. It's called a RANDOM DRAWING! Just like the lottery, random numbers are picked. Sign up once a day like all these other people and just keep your fingers crossed that you win. If you don't win, don't go on another blog saying you didn't win because of this or that....your numbers simply wasn't chosen!
To everyone else, good luck and keep a positive, realistic approach to these things!

I know that I have commented before, but I just can't help it. I love this home so much and want to be there.I really believe that I can afford it on my income. I am a nurse, but since I survived (thank God) my breast cancer, I only do private duty. This house is so Green that the utility bills will be soooo low. Then you are given a golf cart to get around and the SUV crossover for longer runs.Surely the IRS or whoever would give you time to pay the taxes. Or maybe there is some money in the gift package,I don't know. All I know is that I want this house so much that I can hardly stand it. And I do pray about it,too. Even though some may look down on my self expression, I dont't care about that either. I thank HGTV for this opprotunity.I wish everyone well, love Laura

Hello. This is my first time ever entering any kind of sweepstakes. A friend of mine, told me about this site a week ago. Stephanie is a very lucky woman to win that beautiful house. I'd faint if I won that house. I'm a single mother of three boys ages 14, 12 and 7. We're all from San Diego. So moving to an entirely different enviornment, away would be a great start for us all. We'd be so overwelmed to win the Green House contest. The whole feel of the house inside and out is unbelievable and it also has my favorite colors. Most importantly, it's the type of home, that I'd love to raise my children in and feel safe. Any way good luck to everyone who entered. Bye for now.

I am VISUALIZING it...and your Dreams are your Possiblilites! Thanks, HGTV...and I promise if I am the winner I'll be so excited you will probably have to "peel me off the ceiling!" Now, THAT ought to make for a good show! LOL

I noticed that there are several places to put comments.I have been putting my comments in each of the separate clues blog page. I have read the blogs on this page, and it saddens me to read some of them. I agree with Kathy, this is a"sweepstakes", it is not discriminatory at all. Like Kathy said, it's like buying a lottery ticket. HGTV should be praised for giving the opportunity to "all" of us to "dream" about owning a home like this. After all it is a "Dream Home Sweepstakes".Thanks again HGTV for the dream. I noticed also that even though I have entered EVERY day since this contest started, I have no blogs on this page. Hope that doesn't ruin my chances. But, if it's meant to be, it will be. Good luck to everyone, and let us pray that whoever wins, will honor and respect HGTV, the thought, care, hard work, and considerations that went into building this home. Most of all understand what this home represents, and live up to the standards that are expected to maintain this home and community.

Could we give the cluttered country look in the homes a break. The industry is showing very modern sleek kitchens and homes. The pendulum has swung so could you try another look? Maybe your designer is stuck in this style and you need a new one..Less is more you know
I like the idea of a green home though. And the actual bones of the house are nice
Just a thought

What a GREAT county we live in with so many blessings an opportunities. HGTV should be applauded for it's outstanding program and website, sometimes the projects are so simple but with great rewards. Just think if only 10% of us start changing our ways of living because HGTV has now exposed us and educated us on how to become more "Green". I was truely amazed on how much waste there is on new home projects, and I love the floors, if we make the changes we can ALL be the WINNERS. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL! GO GREEN!

I always dream that someday I will do the same for my new home. All the engineers and landscape contractors are excellent I'll used them all because each one of them have an expertise that will contribute to each other. I started to enter all the contest whenever I can. I didn't win the dream home, however, I have a chance to win this gorgeous Green-House. Good luck and abundant blessings to whomever wins.
Oh, by the way, love, love, love, HGTV!

Good-Morning America, I love to watch Spice up my kitchen, and Save my bath. I like watching pretty much all the shows. I'm really not into Let me sleep on it, or My house is worth what. I love to watch Design on a dime. There is so many that I like. Thanks for the opportunity to win a beautiful Green Home. Thanks

I adore this home! The fact that it's a green home is what really makes it a dream. Looking at all the wonderful features it's hard to pick a favorite. I just know this would be the perfect home for me and my retired hubby. Pleanty of room for the grandkids to visit. We both work from home so this would be a wonderful home. But if we don't win it, I'm sure the winner will love it...how could they not?

I'm confused about the "mail-in" entries. I recall that the rules say to enter as often as you wish. Does that mean I can enter several "mail-in" entries every day in addition to the one on-line entry? BF

Good Morning America, GOOD-LUCK to you all, and may God Bless. Thanks

I love the snow and water, thus I would have loved to win the winter park home. But, I equally love warm weather and water. My questions are...Where is the boat? Does the canal go out to the Ocean? I missed the TV show. They might have already answered these two questions. How can you live on water without a boat? Do they make hybrid waterski boats yet!? One would want to cruise around and water ski. Maybe they should throw in a hybrid water ski boat!!!! If not,I would still love to win this home! I am ready for change. I don't know if it is because our bodies are primarily composed of H20 but I have always wanted to live on water. Where I live now, you have to be a millionaire to live on a lake. Good luck to all who enter. It is fun to dream.

The Green Home concept is new to me. I would love to own a green home or perhaps one day have one built from the ground up. By the way, what is the cheapest green home ever built?

I just got cable this Christmas, and now I am addicted to HGTV! The Green Home is amazing, I love the layout--design--everything about it. What fun it is to dream about living there! Good luck everyone. Thanks HGTV for your great shows and website.

My husband and I are expecting our first child and have to find a new home, quick!! We watch House Hunters on HGTV every day. It's so overwhelming to think we could literally move anywhere in the country as long as he is able to get a job there. I am going to enter the Green Home sweepstakes and maybe someday we will be living in Tradition Hilton Head! One can only dream. :)

My wife and I just had a baby. She has been off work for about a year due to complications so you guessed it, combined with that and our medical bills, we are broke. I would love nothing more than to win this house. I was just wondering, I read the rules, it says you can enter online once a day but by mail as often as you wish. Can you do both, enter online once a day and enter by mail??? Thanks.

I'm from Puerto Rico and enjoy the whole HGTV page and programs on TV. I want to know why, from Puerto Rico, we cannot participate on your sweepstakes and giveways. Last year, we could.
If someone knows why, please write me back.
Thanks,
Glory

Big sigh... I lost my home of 12 years due to illness. Hubby & I live with my horrid mother, sleeping on a blow up bed in the living room.
I have something to dream about as I try to fall asleep at night.
Someone who already has a beautiful home (like the winner of the 2007 Dream Home) will probably win. :(
Good luck everyone.

I absolutely love this Green Home. I don't know which one tickles me more, this home or the new Dream Home in Sonoma (a personal favorite location as I'm from California).
Wouldn't it be great if HGTV married the best of both worlds (*ahem* per my idea of the "best of both worlds" - so BIASED!!-) and made the Dream Home in Sonoma ALSO ecologically friendly, green and sustainable? *swoon*
I love this channel, and it's not only inspiring but also fuels my imagination to dream big. Like, Sonoma House BIG!
Good luck everyone!

Good Morning America, I'm so very sorry for the people that have very little or have nothing. The way children have to live they really do not have much of a chance. Some of these landlords should not even be landlords. they just do not care about people. I'ts all about money. I wish everyone that really needs this home the very very best, GOOD LUCK TO YOU. and may God Bless you all. I will pray for you Eric and all the Eric's that are down on their luck. thanks

When you win a home like this, is it already paid for? Do you still have to pay any bills or taxes during tax season? Just curious.
I am praying God will allow someone who really needs the home to WIN. LIKE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
