Well, I'm sitting here wondering if the winner knows yet, and how excited they must or will be. I live in a very rural area in Maine (Often refered to as the sticks). I've never been to Florida, never mind owning a home there... I have no sad reason why I should win as God has blessed me with 4 wonderful children and an incredible husband, a modest home and we are surrounded by wonderful people everyday... I sit here on pins and needles. I've mailed thousands of postcards and entered on line everyday. No activity around my house. It's very quiet. I put a lot of sweat equity into the house in FL. with all my hard work.I'm sure many of you have to. just two hours and forty five minutes away. If I'm not the winner I wish the best for whoever is. I am v.happy that you started building green homes. I love them. I lived in a green home back in Europe for 25 years. No allergies/no colds or sickness. Everything changed when I moved to the US. We are trying to move to NC or SC and I may contact you to build a green home for us. I will definitely enter, daily, your green home sweepstake. Who knows. I might win.

My life's dream has been to live on the beach! My favorite color is turquoise and I have tried to take the ocean with me where ever we are. My husband is a pastor full time and a missionary serving as guidance counselor at a Christian School and Home for Children. We love serving the Lord and know that if we win the house we will serve Him in Key West!!! God bless all who helped with this tremendous project!

OK, so I didn't win the 08 Dream Home, and my chances of ever winning are, well, about as good as surviving a jump from a 727 jetliner at 10,000 feet... But then, miracles do happen, and one exceptionally lucky family DOES win each year, so I'll keep up to date at the HGTV website and get my daily entry in for DH09...hope springs eternal. Besides, I enjoy all of the HGTV programs and online info.

Isn't safe to assume that the winner of the house knows they won by now? Last year they had camera crews already set up and exactly where everyone is to be. Can anyone's entire group of friends and family keep a secret like that from them for 5 minutes? I'm judging form my-in laws cool demeanor and the lack of suspicious people milling about outside that we did not win. Why not me God? I prayed oh so hard?

I think they're just going to announce the winner, as they've never said they would be "surprising the winner live" like they did last year. The person who won didn't seem all that excited and it was kind of anti-climactic last year. The year before that they had the 3 finalists like a game show, that didn't go over so well either. I think they'd get more mileage out of this if they'd just announce the winner and then a month later do a tour of the home with the winner or something. It would also be nice if somebody could keep the home and they could do a one year later episode showing how great everything turned out.

So now we're 3 hours away from the announcement of a lifetime. Still no movement around my house, but they're pretty sneeky from what I hear. Our bags are packed. The kids are on notice to be home by 9. We've told the pets and we're ready to rock in the Keys! Pure enjoyment One teenager is read to scuba dive, one is ready to surf and the other is just ready to watch the boys go by. My husband and myself are ready to leave this hectic life behind and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

to YNOTME, According to the rules on website, "winner would be notified on or before March 16 in person but main sponser may opt for telephone or email." "Winner will be notified 'live' and taped" We ALL still have a chance as slim as it is. I guess your cup is half empty as opposed to half full.

Last year, HGTV let the winner's family know ahead of time. (Remember how they surprised the fellow at a restaurant with like 30 people there?) I hope they don't do it the same way this year. You kind of know you're not a winner right off the bat, and where's the fun in that! I already feel like I've lost because my family doesn't know anything about it... :(

Ive never been to the keys and it would be great for a relaxing getaway with my 13 year old daughter work for me and school for her is so hectic. We would pass out if we won. I wouldnt be able to afford to live their but id vacation their for awile then sell it and buy a big house for me and my daughter and my other family that needs a better home.

Congratulations to the winner of the 2008 Dream Home in Islamorada! I sure hope you love to fish because this is the place to be. My brother goes on a fishing trip there every year and he has been making flys for months in preparation of his trip. I was in Islamorada in May 07 and it is truly a beautiful place. The home is beautiful, ENJOY!

For the last time, my guess for the 2009 Dream Home is Vermont Canyon Road / North Vermont Ave. 90027. I can't wait to find out if I am right. I already visited the place on Google Earth. Lights, camera, action....Hollywood here comes HGTV!

If by some small chance that I don't win this years Dream Home in Florida, I will try for the Green Home or the Log Cabin. And of course there is always Dream Home 2009. Although, my real Dream Home would be located in the Ozark Mountains or near where my Mom lives in Arkansas. Her health isn't great right now and it would be nice if I could live nearby. Here is a thought build my Mom a Dream Home on her 3+ acres and I can move in with her and take care of her. How's that sound HGTV. You wouldn't have to purchase the land cuz she already owns it.

The keys is my absolute favorite place to visit. I wish there were many...like one for all of us, but this has been fun. I went on the Dream home tour and its'a gorgeous home. I fell in love instantly. All things happen for a reason...so good luck to you all.

I believe the winner is already in Florida. I remember previous winners who were flown to the location with their families and they chose one of the finalists from those folks. It will be fun to watch tonight, but I don't think it's anyone at home.

Hi, i am just a girl, but i sure do have big dreams. When I found out that my mom entered this amazing giveaway i got so excited that i went and looked it up on the computer and took the tour, it was the most amazing house i had ever seen in my entire life. I live in a mobile home with 3 other brothers and sisters. It is kind of cramped, so this house would do way more than help us. Plus it is very beautiful and I've lived in the same mobile home for my whole life so far. It would be nice to move, and make my biggest dream come true!!!:

THerefore, I would assume that the "winner" is already informed.

This is another question for FCOL.....My gut instinct wants to answer San Francisco Bay but the word Bay could mean anywhere since there are many bays on Intersate 1 which I have drove from the beginning to the end. The only place where zebras are located are at the San Simeon Bay near the Hearst Castle which is a preserve that is charged in order for people to see the zebras. Is HGTV wanting a general location or a specific name such as the above or possibly Morro? Your answers are very teasing. If nothing else maybe you could give me a job working with HGTV??? We'' its 18:14 PTD and I don't see anyone outside my apartment so I know I didn't win....
"OH WELL," I would have to sell it anyway, my wife and I aren't very good at climbing stairs anymore! But I would have kept the SUV I need a car, my last one broke down 2 years ago and we haven't been able to aford another on! It's hard to live on SSI when your disabled..
