Sure hope my entries win me something but kinda doubt it. Not big on winning stuff. Well anyway Good luck to whom ever Wins it. The House is really nice. Really good view Looks like a nice place to stay for a while and soak up some sun.

Thank you HGTV for giving all who entered hope. I am so happy that you build these beautiful homes for us each year but this one is by far the most beautiful. I have traveled to the Florida Keys and the Dolphin Research Center with my daughter many years ago and we simply love the area and the folks that live there. Having been diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago, I have dreamed of having a home like this one in Florida - for both me and my daughter. I wish the best of luck to all who entered and may everyone be blessed and live very sunny lives - hopefully in the Florida Keys :-)...
Love to all,
Tammy

Hey, I've entered almost everyday, for the last 3 or 4 years, What can I say, it's my retirement plan! Hee Hee, seriously, it is. I wish everyone good luck here and God's speed!

Before the clues start I think Ive gathered where the 2008 home will be. It's going to be in Phoenix Arizona, perhaps the Scottsdale, Paradise valley or Two Biltmore location. The market there is defying the housing collapse nationwide and it is the place to be for luxury homes. Also HGTV is advertized on a local realtors website called centralphoenixliving. The clues I found in the 2007 house was on Jacks Shirt the 90 second tour. He has the Phoenix Emblem on the back of his shirt and on the front is Indian Feathers. Also in the sitting room on the table there appears to be a black and white photo of three native American Indian people.
Phoenix is also near the largest Navajo Indian reservation and is steeped in Native American culture. Hope it is there cause the luxury homes there rock!

This house is beautiful! I've been entering to win almost everyday. Maybe not as much as others, but I'm hopeful. I'm a huge fan of HGTV, and I love almost every one of their shows. HGTV is on all the time at my place! All the designers are so creative and they all have such great ideas. I love their ability to transform a room. I've also entered for chances to be on one of their shows, but has had no luck. Plus most of the shows are filmed in California, and I live in NY. Winning this dream home will be the ultimate dream come true for me and my family. Today is the last day to enter! Good luck to everyone!

I never win anything, but this would be such a dream come true for my family and I to start over. We desperatley need a new life. Things have been too hard for too long. We have never owned anything nice or even been to the ocean . But I have always dreamed of a paradise on the ocean where we can all heal and I can collect seashells in a basket every morning. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. I hope whoever gets this beautiful home really does need it and especially appreciates it. Good luck and best wishes to all, Sincerely, Elizabeth

I believe that dreams do come true for some people that believe. I believe that one day I will own a beautiful home for me and my family. I hope I will win but if I don't I hope the person that wins will enjoy this home and it will be a true dream come true for them and their family. Thank you, HGTV for having dreamhome giveaway!

I would like to thank the good Lord for giving those people the knowledge to build a beautiful home , and HGTV, & all the sponsers that came together to make this dream home possible. Godspeed & God bless the homeowner ! Sherri~

I have been entering everyday by email. I just started wondering about the process. How will HGTV convert the online entries so that they can be mixed with the mail in entries? Does one have a better chance if they mail in verus online? I wish I had thought about this earlier.
I love everything about the dream house and have been praying that I will win. It is in God's and HGTV's hands now. Who ever wins will be a lucky person. Good luck to all.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE HGTV!!!!...Thanks for the Motivation, Inspiration and Hope!!!...I Love trying to figure out where the next Dream Home will be!!!...My guess is Scotsdale or Sedona...of course ANY place you guys build only increases the market value for the existing land owners and makes a Dream Come True for the Winner!!! Its a Win Win Situation! Best of Luck to Everyone, and may the winner pass on the new found wealth in ways of helping as many people they can in a positive way!!!

I agree with Marilyn Feb.19th, this is a contest to win a house and not a sympathy contest. If everyone shared their problems, this would be a depressing web-sight. I'm not heartless, I just do not think this is the place to discuss medical & personal problems. We all have some type of problems and misfortunes in our lives; and my heart goes out to everyone who does. Looking forward to the clues for next years Dream Home. Good Luck to all of you on winning the home in the Keys.......

Well this is it! Good luck to all who enters! This will be my fifth year entering. Maybe I'll be lucky this time. My daughters been asking to vacation in the Florida Keys, maybe we can live there. Wouldn't that be great! Thanks HGTV for this wonderful opportunity.

What God has for you is for you. Why is it some posters feel the need to state the obvious? We all know this contest is a draw. However, if someone chooses to blog about why they believe they should win - just let it be. And furthermore, let's say for the sake of knowing HGTV is reading some of the blogs to get a sense of the humility the entrants have – some of you prove how disingenuous and catty you really are and no different than the people who complain about the taxes and hurricane proof windows. Have a heart!
I wish the very best of luck to EVERY entrant!!!

Today is the last big day for everybody to enter they're chances of winning this absolutely wonderful dream home that you HGTV people is kindly giving away. I sure do hope that what my wife has been doing by entering my name almost every day here will pay off. This is truly a blessing from God through HGTV whoever wins. As for me and my wife we will just keep on praying to the Lord Above that we will be luckily surprised on that very big day when HGTV knocks on our door for a new life with a new dreamhome. For the rest good luck too and God Bless us all!

it was about two weeks ago, very cold and blustery typical New England weather...right after the groundhog saw his shadow of course!!
I just happened to be watching HGTV when the tour of this year's Dream Home Sweepstakes came on. I was rivited...in complete awe and could NOT move from my seat!...at first i thought it was a profile on yet another spectacular HGTV make over...then i found out it was a sweepstakes and i had a chance to win it!! Since that very moment, I'v been entering daily...as if all my visions and thoughts came together and voila...i flipped on the tv and there it was before my very eyes...my Dream Home...i thought i was dreaming!!
thanks for putting it together for me! and throwing in a car too? whoohoooo!!
I have the posted the photos all around my apt! Did i mention how much i adore Palm trees? my favorite tree infacT!! Looking at those photos helps take the chill off this new england winter...
Iv been dreaming and planning a transition to warm climate working with and surrounded by fellow artists...making this my home will certainly ease that transition...participating in this sweepstakes (it's pretty much a first for me!) has been a very uplifting and inspiring experience...the details in the design the decor, the landscaping (that outdoor shower!), the location (dolphins at my door!)...and to top it off...a car too?!! fantastic!
Thanks HGTV for this opportunity...
A dream needs a plan...so plan big and your dreams will follow...best to all of us...

I also agree, it is not a sympathy contest, as we all have our sad stories. Hey, I am recovering from Breast Cancer and lost a parent 10 weeks ago. But, life could be worse, at least I am living through it.
Best wishes to everyone! To the winner...Enjoy and let us know when the housewarming party is!! Ha Ha.
Good Luck! :)

Just wanted to say, "Good Luck"! Someone is going to win. I hope it's me. Looks so beautiful. Would be nice if they had 2, 3 or 4 people to try for it like 2 or 3 years ago. It's just so much fun to watch. That person who asked what channel is it going to be on. Are they kidding? If the next house is going to be in Arizona, I bet it will be outstanding also. Well, see you on TV when I win!

Can't wait for the first clue--what a kick!! My friends joke about my devotion to HGTV and my enthusiasm about winning the Dream Home... we have a lot of fun with it but we all know that, really, the winner will just be someone who is incredibly, incredibly lucky. That's what makes it so great. He doesn't have to be more or less deserving than someone else--who would ever be able to make that judgment? She doesn't have to be able to afford the taxes, or to keep the home no matter what. Just someone who is incredibly, incredibly lucky. Maybe even me.

Yes today was the only day that I entered. Im freezing up here in North Dakota and love Florida, always have. Good luck everyone. I will be saying my prayers.

It was fun this year. What a colorful second home! I am sure the folks who purchase it from the winners will enjoy it to its fullest. Outstanding job! Was my favorite so far. So much class! Simple and chic!
As for going forward, I would have to guess a second home resort location. I would have to choose Montana. There is alot of excitment there now. The Ameya Perserve has lots of buzz now. They are the in the Dream Home relm of HGTV for sure. I look forward to seeing the clues this afternoon.
As always Fcole, Thanks for making it fun!
I have learned so much from the Dream Homes each year. I just remodeled my house with all the knowledge I got from the DH's. I am so please with my results.

I did not enter this time around, but followed all the blogs and comments. Don't tell everyone your hard luck stories, because EVERYONE has a cross to bear in this world. Bear it with grace and dignity. (That's from my Irish mother. LOL) The home is beautiful and exciting and I look forward to this every year. God Bless you HGTV!

I walked every room at least 50 times and placed my grandkids in every spare bed room and my husbant sitting in the warm livingroom all in last years house which I just loved and though up till the night of the drawing my name would be called so this year I have again let myself and my family dream the dream of sitting in the yard looking at the ocean or watching my husbant and grandkids fishing not to say looking back behind me to see a dream. But with the spirng coming we will know one lucky family has won the dream. It is so wonderful that during our long cold winter there is a place to dream of. Thanks HGTV for a DREAM It helps us to keep going and keep dreaming. Thank you

Hi all HGTV viewers, Love that dream home, the view is the most amazing of all I've seen any place. My husband and I retired about a year ago and we had so many projects to do from watching all the programs that we haven't traveled any yet.We have learned to do some repairs and some paint tecniques that are great. We live in a small rural town just North of Orlando. We know how wonderful the weather is here, and know that whom ever wins the awesome Dream Home will be blessed. Good Luck everyone!! Have a great Day.

Thank you HGTV for this opportunity. I just found out about it yesterday actually so I've only entered twice, but I've been trying to find a way back to the Keys for a while now. I was born and raised there and I moved away after college and would love to move back and be near my family again. Finances and circumstances have not permitted. My family has a long history in the Keys and I miss it (and them) so much!
Posted by Keys Girl – February 19, 2008 3:42 PM
Hope to win this home. My family has stayed on Marathon Island twice while on vacation; I know the area and it is beautiful. Just a place to relax and do nothing, pace is slow. I hope to win as my wife and I have put the kids through college and now it is our turn. Our daughter lives in New Orleans, she went there to find work in journalism and found it. After visiting our daughter in N.O., I began to think that this dream home would be a great place for the daughter to escape to on occassion. N.O. is going through troubled times, murders, crime, local goverment that can not seem to get its act together and just get it done. Love to watch HGTV, great escape from all the rest of the bad TV. Keep up the good work HGTV. Good luck to everyone.

I simply love HGTV! My last entry...just a few seconds ago. I would love to share this home with my family and their families. Life presents so few opportunities to get together and simply enjoy each other's company. I came from a large family of 9 growing up. We have managed to keep close over the years, but if I win we will reconvene here every chance we can and spend time together. I value my family and would undoubtedly value a home like this and more importantly value the opportunity it presents for our family to connect, relax, and reflect.

Would Lile to know the winner as I have entered everyday.

The temperature here is 22 degrees. It was snowing all morning. HGTV please take me away from all this. I bought a new bathing suit. The color matches MY Dream Home in Islamorada. I asked my 4 precious Grandchildren if they have bathing suits to pack. We are anxiously awaiting our arrival. The art supplies will be put to good use. They were the first thing my Grandchildren noticed when they took the tour of the Children's Room. We REALLY want to win. Grandma of 4.

This reminds me of a great quote from "Alice in Wonderland" that goes something like "I dare say I try to think of 14 impossible things each day before breakfast!" Our hopes and dreams sustain us and keep the magic in our lives. Thanks for providing that magic HGTV. We all need more of it!

I love entering every year and dream of winning the Dream Home, but I have to say...the real fun starts with guessing next years location. Every year I hope they bring the DH to the Napa Valley. It's beautiful all year round. I've never been to tour a DH yet, but if it comes to the west coast or Hawaii next year, I'm there. Can't wait for the first clue!!! Good luck everyone!!!

It is truly an amazing thing to have such a beautiful home discriminately given to an individual. God knows I would love to have this house for me and my boyfriend, some to be finance. We talk so much about marriage but don't have a home, car, or anything else for that matter. This would really be a WONDERFUL start to the new year!
All the best to everyone that entered.

Okay- fcole,BRING IT ON- that is the first 2 clues for Dream Home 2009. I really enjoyed trying to find out the location for the 2008 Dream Home. I'm sure it will be even more exciting this year. I read where some of you already have an idea where the location is. GOOD LUCK TO WHOMEVER WINS THIS YEARS HOME,what a great way to start off the new year!!! It's a very beautiful home.......

It's sad to read about all my fellow Giveaway entrants' plans to live in the Dream Home. Just understand before you pack your bags that the federal taxes on the prizes will be 35%, or about $700,000 cash. That's why all the previous winners have had to sell the home promptly. If you DO stay, your property taxes will be between $13,000 and $17,000 annually. Pretty sobering, isn't it? Oh well, we STILL all want to win it. I could at least visit it until it's sold since I only live 3 hours away (as a matter of fact, I toured the home when I was on the Keys in January).

This would be a dream come true for whever wins it. It would be a blessing to anyone. I, of course, would love to be the lucky winner, however, i will be happy for whom ever wins. It would make a great birthday present since mine is 2 days from the date it will be announced to the world who own. I wish everyone who has entered the very best of luck and that they also have great blessings from God.

Thank you HGTV for the chance of a life time! I love the site and the different articles you guys post-up. Most importantly, Thanks for the great discussions of "What would it be like to win this?" I think I only missed 2 or 3 days where I did not re-enter.
To everyone out there who have had the same discussions as my wife and I about what it would be like, Good luck! Can't wait to hear about the Winner(s)!

I JUST missed the entry deadline today at like 5:01 by my clock--DRATS! And I don't see any clues for next year yet either, which are supposed to be available 5:00.. What time is it here anyway (of course it is later because of interruption by my child.. I need a get away and a Dream home!

I missed entering today since I had to run to work, but I guess the many other times I entered will have to do, if God has this gift for me and my family so we can get out of this tundra that Michigan has turned into I'll be eternally grateful.
I need to see the sun shine more than once every 14 days!!! Help.

It sure has been fun to watch these homes in the past few years being built with such talent, hard work, and a lot of "good heart" put into this. What a wonderful show and good luck to all who have entered! Keep up the good work, and God bless you!

not to bring anyone down about winning this home, but who ever wins this is going to have to payy 25,ooo in taxes and all the cooling, electricity bills, and that grass they have in the back is not going to be that forever. It's actually going to have a community pool in there because there will be 3 homes built on each side of the home. and a side walk going down to the beach where there'll bea dock built. this was said on the home plans and on the hgtv channel.

I have been praying and believing GOD for this home too just like many of us others. Most of us have a story to tell of why we should have the dream home. Some of us have a hard existence and others just want a nice getaway.
GOD never makes a mistake and it is already decided by HIM who will get this home, GOD already knows and has approved it's destination. We may want to believe that it is a draw of luck, however, luck too is in submission to the ALMIGHTY ETERNAL CREATOR. If I win, praise be to GOD and if you win praise be to GOD too, your joy is mine too. So enjoy.

My husband wants to be in Florida anyway - thanks for reading my little note. It is always with such hope that I begin each year and sign in as many days as possible. Thanks from all your readers for giving us this opportunity.

I've been trying for 5 years now so I hope that I can win this, I really need to move out of the DC area so that I can relax, fish the rest of my days before I die and have many friends and acquaintances come down to see me(stay free) and also have a chance to relax from this chaotic area and have me to cook for them. I'm handicapped and this will make me happy for the remaining years of my life. Thank you all and all of the employees can come on down for free anytime but call me before you come to make sire the extra rooms are available for you! And I hope that all of those that entered can afford the extra closing costs and any and all charges that may be needed to own this house and the yearly property taxes, I know that I will be able to and can for my time left here on earth.

Oh me Oh my, its my time to say bye bye! This is one nice place to visit, and living there is going to be even nicer! I don't enter these things to lose, I enter them to win! But, I consider myself a winner, just having the opportunity to watch HGTV do it's magic on the places they 'fix'. They have made a lot of not so beautiful places, beautiful! And, seeing the transformation's on some of my favorite shows like Designed to Sell, Design on a Dime, House Hunter's, Buy Me, and on and on. I just say thank you to HGTV for the beauty they bring into peoples lives! I do wish they could move closer to the East Coast with some of the Shows, who knows maybe someday they will...I have been given countless ideas that I have incorporated into my home, and have 'discovered' some things they showed me, could be taken to another level! With the help of my 'construction savvy' husband. Your ideas, my ideas and his expertise, I never have a space that can't be revamped, and more than once, in some cases! Good luck to us all, and God Bless us all!

This is a great contest and HGTV is a great channel. I think we all need to remember that whatever happens, HGTV helps all of us add a little "DREAMHOME" to our homes, no matter what they look like or what our situation is. The downside is that you already need to be wealthy to afford to keep this home. The last guy was very deserving and handicapped! Unfortunately he had a mortgage to pay the taxes over $600,000 and ended up having to sell. The former posters are right, if you dream big...YOU make the changes in your own life, not a contest.
Posted by Amy L. – February 19, 2008 5:52 PM
I'm not holding my breath on this one. I have entered zillions of times on the other homes. This time I didn't get a chance to enter as much, due to the fact that our 32 yr old son died unexpectantly a wk before Christmas. So between grief and working on his affairs I haven't had the chance to enter. I know that there are many out there worse off than I, but this blow was just the climax to our bad luck. 2005 my husband was in a motorcycle accident, and 2006-07 my lymphoma was back with me having to have a stem cell transplant. These 2 things were minor compared to losing our son. Good Luck to who ever wins the house!!

Good luck to everyone! I am so excited! I've been entering since the HGTV Home Giveaway started, and for the past years I've been disappointed. But I know, God knows who deserves IT most... I know my family deserves it too, but it's up to HIM :)

This has been so much fun enteriing this contest. We all are winners and I wish the best to all of us. I just can't wait to get that knock on my door saying that I am the new owner of that wonderful home.

I have to admit, I enjoy life by seeing other people happy, but this time I want ALL the LUCK in winning the home in the keys. I don't currently have cancer nor am I a single parent with seven kids needing fifteen different surgeries. I just want the house and I would greatly apprieciate it. I do not take people for morons by thinking I can get what I want with pity. I am a happy guy now and I would be much happier if I won. Everyone wants a house in the keys.If you are in poverty now and homeless, you are looking at a MEAN 1099 next year.
lol, good luck all...

Good Luck to everyone ! I have entered every day but today. I would love to win this home however I have been so blessed in my life. I was especially blessed today with the birth of my grandson. Even though the Dream Home entries are over - my day ended just perfect. Can't wait to get my hands on that little bundle of joy !

Good luck to all, but of course, I'm winning this house!! I've entered daily and I've made plans to spend my summer in my new home. I can feel the warm sun and the white sand between my toes! I can feel the nice cool breeze as I drink my martini.

Islamorada - one of our favorite stops on the FL Keys for many years! Steel band, tiki bars, ocean blue as the sky above - the perfect place for our dream retirement home. We've crossed our fingers and toes on this one. Of course, did the same for the Ski COLORADO dream home but....maybe this time is a charm. Anyway, we wish the winner all the wonderful surf time in the world as this one is quite the green space, and definitely has all of the best views in the world. Thank you HGTV for the chance!

I love the beach, I was diagnosed with pulmonary hpertension four years ago, and my husband knows how much I love the ocean so he tries to take me every year when I'm feeling up to it. I hope whoever wins this magnificent house truly does not take it for granted, life is short and precious. I would love to see my twin boys playing on that beach every day!!!
