It's the first day of October! Time to start planning your Halloween costume, pull out the rakes for your leaf-covered yard and most importantly, figure out how to use the color orange in your home.

Check out our gallery of orange room for ways to incorporate this pumpkin shade in your designs.

Im not an orange person but this pulled off very well and not crassy and overbearing.I would put cushioned seats and more comfortable table because guests will want to admire and relax in lovely designs and I know my lower posterior would not be happy in these seats!!I rate a 9.

My diningroom is painted a dark pumpkin and at first I was a little hesitant, but it looks great! Feels very comfortable in that room.

I love that the color orange is comng around again. I just painted one wall in my living room and dining room a shade of orange (iced tea) and I was so excited when I saw that Kim Miles of Miles of Style had used that same paint to do a make over. love love love the color orange..

Do not let color scare you...go with your gut. You can always test a color by finding an accent wall in your space and adding the color there. It is a small investment in time and money and the results can be priceless.

I'm crazy in love with that outdoor room. My inner harvest is tingling. I would want that as in indoor room as well as an outdoor room. Wish I could just pick it up out of the photo and place it in my living-room.
Seriously... does Angelo Surmelis make house calls to sleepy little Goonie towns in Oregon???

I painted my bathroom bright orange--everything else is white--sink, shower, toilet, med cabinet. towel rod---it really pops--and even though it is a small room, it does not feel enclosed---and it definitely wakes you up in the morning.

any ideas?...small room (like 12x14 ish very old house, used to be a one room school house yrs ago), walls topaz venetian plaster( http://interiorillusionsfx.com/ventianII.aspx ) white trim, walnut wood floor, olive sofa, dark sage chair, vintage looking( rolled arms/backs, no skirts) copper verdigris lamp and 2 wall sconces...thinking of soft roman type shades for the window and fabric cornice but can't really find a fabric to pull it all together .thinking of a purplish as an accent color and no idea what to go with for an area rug. any ideas? can't afford to get rid of anything right now but will some day get another chair or two, problem is the door way is in the right third of the room so traffic pattern is a real problem
