Close your eyes. Take yourself back to the days of 1930's Hollywood, when Art Deco ruled and Dorothy Draper wowed the nation with her bold prints, oversize furniture and bright colors. Great Depression, be damned. Now open your eyes. Take a look around. It's all come full circle. After seeing the fabulous new offerings at this week's International Home Furnishings Market, I want to rush off to put on a heavy silk evening gown, make marcel waves in my hair and don gloves that go up to my elbows! Have a look, dahhhling, while I go fetch some more champagne.

Century introduced a black and white collection with curvy lines, scalloped edges and big prints. I especially love the Montclair Ottoman, with its reference to the Chinese Chippendale style.

HGTV’s own Candice Olson, known for her glamour-puss styling, introduced the Lola sofa for Norwalk Furniture. "It's extremely dressy," Candice says of the lush channel-back silhouette.

Thayer Coggin, known best for its contemporary furniture, went Deco this fall with its similarly plush and velvety sofa — the Gramercy. Can’t you just see yourself fainting away in it?

Restaurateur, designer and model B. Smith, meanwhile, came out with the Glam Sofa for Clayton Marcus — heavy silk and velvet with big fat pillows that purr at you to sit down.

Not to be out-glammed, Vanguard Furniture introduced a collection called Deco Glam Defined. I shrieked with joy (well, not really, but I wanted to) when I saw the Sir Charles arm and side chairs with silver leaf frames. They take the Chinese Chippendale look to the 10th power! The more refined lines of the Hayes and Elaine chairs and ottomans, meanwhile, sport a cool Deco sensibility.

London's Deco is just as scrumptious as Hollywood's in British furniture maker Julian Chichester's interpretation. The Ricky Silver Chair screams with glam attitude, and the silver Eglomise Dressing Table demands that you look your very best. The Anna headboard and Brighton bedside table, meanwhile, take a great modern turn on the classic style.

In the same elegant style is the lovely Berkeley Chest from Lexington Home Brands' Zacara collection. The Savoy Writing Desk makes me want to take out some luxurious personalized writing paper and my best water fountain pen.

I have always loved the Hollywood Glamour era! The pieces are so retro, yet would work with so many other vintage or modern pieces. The colors and the boldness of the prints are what I am always drawn to. And the furniture has an edge to it but is very comfortable. Can't beat that.

Posted by Deb – October 3, 2007 2:39 PM

The 'glam" is a pleasant and welcome change to the casual and earth look. I hope my clients are as receptive as I am.

LOVE IT!!! I'm so glad that the art deco is back. Thumbs up for Candice Olsen's Lola Sofa.

I would like to know where to get the chest that is in between the century scrollwork chairs.

I love the Hollywood Glamour era. One of my favorites was in the movie The Aviator, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes, Kate Blanchett as Katherine Hepburn and Kate Beckinsale as Ava Gardner. There's one scene where Ava accuses Howard of spying and tapping her phone line. They're in her living room, which is decorated in shades of greens and brown. It's stunningly beautiful and so Hollywood.

J'ADORE glam, but I think it has to remain a bit tailored as not to appear too feminine to the men who might not want to inhabit an interior that they might consider too "girly" or garish. Restraint is key; remember--Sofia, not Jayne, as in that famous Hollywood photo...I agree, Candice reigns!

Posted by Jude – October 3, 2007 6:35 PM

I generally don't go for the retro look, but Century's b/w look is very nice, classic without looking dated.

Posted by A D G – October 3, 2007 7:02 PM

The furniture reminds me of my younger days. I guess if I hang on to the things I have it will be in style 30 years from now.

Posted by Linda – October 3, 2007 7:21 PM

As an Interior Designer in the field of Architecture, I chose the ones that appear comfortable and appeal to the eye.

1) Thayer Coggin's idea of a clean, white, plush
piece that is of good length & a comfortable
cushion is a beautiful base to set his idea.
The black pillow (neutral theme) that is
highlighted with a central cherry red velvety
pillow that really catches your attention.
Warm welcome! This combination speaks to me.

2) Clayton Marcus showcased this peaceful sofa
with a touch of understated elegance. The
slight shimmer in the pillow texture speaks
class and hospitality. I like it a lot.

I love the hollywood glam, when you ask to closed my eyes i did and turn around i saw vanity and chair, beatiful floors and every thing was in green and black almost like one of the picture so romantic.

Love the Smith Glam sofa, and Vanguard wing back chair. I like the straight lines but do not care for the big bold prints on fabrics and walls.

Candice has hit the jackpot with this Lola sofa, as a child, we had one so very much like this that I would almost think it was our old sofa. I remember it being so comfortable to lay on, but mom wouldn't let the children put their feet on it. She really loved that sofa and it was the center of her living room. She loved that sofa more than the first color
T V we had. We were the first in the neighbor hood to get a color T V, so you know what that sofa meant to her.The scroll work chairs are beautiful and The art Deco pieces are very tasteful with class.

Posted by Deborah – October 3, 2007 8:16 PM

I am so glad to see the "glam" era is alive again! I have always felt like I belonged in the 30's era; and now I can live it through decor! No cookie "cutter furniture" here. The furniture is simply beautiful. I have spent a lot of time in the past year just looking for this style of furniture. Now I have found it...in my own home town! Makes me feel like listening to the "big bands", putting on a fabulous dress, and ballroom dancing!

Posted by Beverly – October 3, 2007 8:26 PM

As a designer I am always excited about new trends and love to incorporate those with some existing pieces. I absolutely love the art deco
period. It is a welcome change to the "cold and uninviting" contemporary look. I especially like the pieces by Century....they add drama with a bit of wimsical flair to a room. A great look for a family room or bedroom. This look will bring a smile to your face when you enter the room!

Did you see the great line of Massage Chairs and Personal Comfort Products from Raffel Comfort Sciences and Tranquil Ease at High Point?

It's one of the fastest growing segments of the furniture industry.

Posted by Chris Pica – October 3, 2007 9:11 PM

These period pieces have clean lines while having the ability to give a bold impact. That's why they can stand on their own or integrate well with other styles. I love them!

Posted by JoAnn DiFrancesco – October 3, 2007 9:22 PM

Didn't like it in the 40's. Don't like it now.

Posted by Annette – October 3, 2007 9:30 PM

The styles remind me of the GREENBRIER RESORT IN WEST VIRGINIA.D. Draper has her designs all over the resort.I might add this is a place where a room for the night is $500.00 for the least expensive room. But to see the Draper wallpaper throughout the complex is just dazzeling.I will be changing some of my decor and furniture in the near future.Great designs. Thanks

All of the furniture is just fabulous, elegant, glamourous, sophisticated! I love Candice Olsen's Lola Sofa, it is calling my name. Candice is a "Designer's Designer", she is truly my favorite designer!!!!!

Love all the photos you have here from IHFM, especially the ones from Julian Chichester. I think this whole resurgence of Hollywood Glamour is so popular, because it's a welcome change from the "neautral" days we've thankfully come out of. The pop of color, reflection of mirrors and thoughtful designs in wood and accessories make decorating fun again. Glad to see it's back and hope it stays around for a while.

I like the lines of the new sofas and chairs especially. Most appear to be sleeker and a departure from the overstuffed style of the past several years. I hope the scale is such that it works in homes built during the Art Deco period or earlier. Most of the furniture in recent years has been of a scale that does not work in homes built in the 20's and 30's.

Posted by Deb – October 3, 2007 11:48 PM

I absolutely ADORE this style! I would love to see this kind of sophisticated style on an HGTV program. Sparkle Josh Johnson (Design Star Contestant) would have been the PERFECT DESIGNER to introduce this style to the HGTV audience. I look forward to seeing more of this in the future, it's right up my ally!

Nooooooooo...are we back around on the caliope to gold foil wallpaper with plate sized red roses all over it?! Please tell me it isn't so! Saved, thank the stars...by Smith's Glam Sofa for Clayton Marcus! Classic!

Love it....love it! I am redecorating my bedroom old hollywood style!

Posted by Diane – October 4, 2007 2:41 AM

Alas, I fear these pictured pieces will never become "Antiques" except for the "Chinese Ottoman" and a few of the chairs. They will probably grace many of the Avant Garde designers homes, but not mine. Yes I do like " Old Movies" but I don't want to "Live in them"

This is only my opinion, however as we used to say in the automobile business " There's an A-- for every seat"

Posted by Vincent Sabatino – October 4, 2007 5:23 AM

I really love the glam look. I'm hoping to be able to create the look in my livingroom for a lot less!

Posted by cassandra baker – October 4, 2007 6:04 AM

the furniture is a little odd but very pretty and stylish. the designer was very artful

Posted by betty dalton – October 4, 2007 7:12 AM

Not for me, to cold looking. 50's 60's yuk. It doesn't even look comfortable, if u have money to change your style whenever ok. But I have to with my furniture for awhile, can't change the style whenever it popular. I like the country cottage look anyway so this is out of the realm for me.

Posted by Kim stiglich – October 4, 2007 8:09 AM

I love this look - very clean lines and refreshing..

Candice Olson is one of my favorite designers would love to see more of her creations, and room designs. She can take any room and create a dream room. Where can I find more of her design rooms on line?

Fabulous

Posted by Madis Davis – October 4, 2007 8:29 AM

I like this style and have been seeing a lot of this in the TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores. It is very high style to me, however, I do not want to go back to the wallpaper walls, but rather stay with the warmth of color on the walls. Very informative article.

Posted by B Lucas-Thrower – October 4, 2007 8:29 AM

the patterns look good, the furniture itself looks uncomfortable

Posted by Dan – October 4, 2007 8:31 AM

I am not a retro fan....still into my antiques and comfortable country. Nothing appealed to me from the colors to the form.

Posted by Joyce – October 4, 2007 8:45 AM

Well if you had good furniture from the past it is still in style...with the new look.

Posted by Linda – October 4, 2007 8:49 AM

I am excited to see the Glamour back, expecially for formal living rooms, that is one room in a house that should always look glamourous. As always Candice Olsen's couch "Lola" is definetly my favorite. Candice you go girl, do your thang!lol! You and your crew are simply DEVINE!!!

Sincerely,
Sandra from Jeffersonville, Indiana

I've always loved the art deco style. I remember touring the art deco district hotels in South Beach, Fl. and marveling at the furnishings. An art deco piece can really change a room. Can't wait to see more and more.

Posted by S. Chiaramonte – October 4, 2007 8:52 AM

Sorry Jennifer, you and I have much different taste. The colors are okay, but way too busy for this country girl. One piece of this furniture goes a long way. Too much of a good thing makes the room seem too busy for relaxing. To me, it lacks softness and the cozy feeling I expect from my furniture. It doesn't have that pop down on the sofa; grab a good book; take a nap quality.

Posted by Debbie – October 4, 2007 9:01 AM

love them, they are exceptional

Posted by sherrose – October 4, 2007 9:17 AM

The Candance Olson and B. Smith couches/sofas are decent. The Thayer Coggin sofa is great. The rest is either nothing new or downright ugly.

Posted by Dane – October 4, 2007 9:20 AM

As a child I grow up with this furniture. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. I consider myself a classic/tradionalist when it comes to furniture design. And this style combines the starkness of contemporary modern with an elaborate garishness common to the 30's Hollywood syle. And forget comfort. Backs of sofas are too low, plush chairs are too stiff and not really plush, and the common chairs are great if interrogating a prisoner, they are so rigid. Once more, style is being dictated by designers with no concept of what the normal citizen wants and/or needs.

Posted by Donna Stubbs – October 4, 2007 9:28 AM

Not my style. It doesn't have the warmth I'm looking for. Sorry.

Posted by Sue – October 4, 2007 9:45 AM

Its fine for someone else but not me.

It looks like loft furniture.

Its not a place where you flop down on the couch or curl up in the chair to read a book or watch a movie.

Posted by Gwen – October 4, 2007 9:58 AM

Great lines and bones to the art deco funiture. It's truly nice to see this style make a come back. Nothing dresses up a room like a tuxedo motive. Great look.

Posted by Marlene – October 4, 2007 10:11 AM

HATE IT

Posted by Linda – October 4, 2007 10:29 AM

Although I can appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of all the pieces they seem a bit much when grouped together. I'd love to take one or two of them i.e.the Eglomise Dressing Table and Julian Chichester's Ricky Silver Chair and fit them into the decor of my more masculine guest room.

Remember that you don't have to be matchy- matchy. You can always dress a piece down.

Posted by Amber Janel – October 4, 2007 10:33 AM

I didn't like this furnature at all, it looks like furnature one would find in a motel room. Is that what these were designed for? The couches were also pretty tacky like stuff from a thrift store and none look comfortable. Actually, I've seen much better in a thrift store. Also, the black and white just doesn't do a thing for me as I love color. Right now my couch is bright yellow.

Sorry, but this stuff sucks.

Posted by Kay – October 4, 2007 10:38 AM

I AM SURE I AM ALL BY MYSELF WHEN I SAY, THIS FURNITURE (IMO) IS REALLY UGLY. I HAVE HELPED PEOPLE DESIGN AND PUT TOGETHER ROOMS FOR YEARS AND I NEVER LIKED THESE STYLES EVEN BACK YEARS AGO. MOST PEOPLE, AGAIN ( IMO ) LIKE A ROOM TO FEEL WARM AND INVITING, SOMEHOW THIS FURNITURE JUST DOESN'T DO THE TRICK.
DONNA....REMEMBER....JMO

Posted by DONNA – October 4, 2007 10:46 AM

The style is sleek. It would be ice to goback to the days when people had cocktail parties and ladies and gentlemen dressed appropriately. Gracioua living is fast becomming a lost art.

Posted by Lynn – October 4, 2007 11:40 AM

I could possibly see this furniture in a salon reception area. It's stylish, but not my taste at all. I love the rustic but elegant look. This furniture is too contemporary and looks uncomfortable.

Posted by Jacqueline – October 4, 2007 12:00 PM

I love Deco, and some of these pieces are very nice. The tuxedo chairs are beautiful and would fit almost anywhere. The Vanguard Hayes modified wing chair and ottoman in grey is a classy set. Both chairs are close enough to a traditional look to fit well with many styles.

The Thayer Coggins Gramercy sofa is absolutely sumptuous. Its feminine curves could wrap you up by a cozy fireside or let you gracefully sit in a business suit.

As for the bedroom pieces, a little pattern goes a long way. That's way too much pattern for me with the headboard, wallpaper and that hideous brown and yellow bed covering. The little mirrored nightstand is cute, and adds plenty of reflection.

Posted by JP – October 4, 2007 12:08 PM

Yuk! Not to my liking at all, but primitive country is my thing.

Posted by Cheryl – October 4, 2007 12:11 PM

Candice is hands down the best designer in years, excellent taste in everything. The fabric and furniture are very nice. I like everything but the Julian Chichester room. Why on earth would they use that wallpaper and bedding with his furniture?? Gross and detracts from the design. Can't believe anyone would enjoy that no matter what year. Keep going Candice- love ya.

Posted by Lois Geer – October 4, 2007 12:19 PM

I really like all of Candice Olson's "Divine Designs", and her Lola sofa is spectacular.
But, why oh why, does she always have to be
so utterly goofy???

Posted by Martha – October 4, 2007 12:21 PM

i like your sytle. i could add things to it and colors to warm it up. Niceeeeee

keep it up, it's different.... which means to me special...

Posted by toni – October 4, 2007 12:29 PM

Well Done! Shouldn't the Century scroll chairs and the headboard be in the same home? Love the mirrored side peices. No more sage/red combos, overstuffed 80's junk!

Posted by north carolina gal – October 4, 2007 12:33 PM

Loved the Century Tuxedo Wing chairs and the display, but the broad stripes are a bit too bold for my taste. I also liked the scroll chairs, but not the upholstery. Other than that, the Hollywood retro is TOO retro for me--an era I never DID see as having any significant beauty. The bedroom and headboard were just plain unappealing to me. The wooden furniture, although it did have some classic features I like, was too sharp-edged in appearance, but I did find the Julian Chichester Ricky silver chair to be very interesting and different. I think that's what I think is missing--it should have a Today's Hollywood feel, not something from so far in the past that it's rapidly going to be passe'.

Posted by Florence – October 4, 2007 12:47 PM

The "Century Scrollwork Chairs" are my favorite. They are so elegant. The frame has an antique look while the pattern looks very hip and modern. The combo is classy. I see the pattern was repeated on the "Century Montclair Ottoman". Where can I get this fabric? Also, love Candice's couch "Lola". As usual it is "Devine"! I also like the B. Smith "Glam Sofa", another elegant one. I do not like the room with the Julian Chichester's Anna headboard. The wall paper and bedspread are too busy together, YUK.

Posted by Kathleen Overman – October 4, 2007 1:43 PM

Have you checked out the furniture in other than the main building? David Michael has some great contemporary leather chairs, as well as a new collection by William Poole and plenty of rustic & formal looks, too.
Ceck it out!

The Savoy writing desk is very Hollywood Glamour. It's clean, smooth lines make this piece a fantastic asset. Is it mahogony or cherry?

Posted by Dora Ramos – October 4, 2007 2:00 PM

I have a sectinal couch that is over 30 years old that I have enjoyed. It is High Point brand. It is 4 indivual pieces that I can reconfigure as 3 piece couch & chair, 2 loveseats (one armless), 4 piece "L" couch, etc.
I have loved the versatility of it. It needs replacing but I haven't found anything like it. Can you direct me and/or send me pictures? Thanks for this comment opportunity.

Posted by Lynne Daniel – October 4, 2007 2:13 PM

I liked the "LOOK" of the furniture but that is all. Doesn't look very comfortable to me. I would like to see that period of furniture but with more of a comfortable twist to it. My great grandma had a sofa from the 30's that I would love to have today, it was large and comfy. Like to see something like that.

Posted by Vicki – October 4, 2007 2:21 PM

I usually love Candice, but this style would be hard to live with for the long term.

Posted by Patricia – October 4, 2007 2:26 PM

I love the dramatic look of the Century Tuxedo Chairs. The lines are so clean and understated on most of the rest of the presentations that the furniture should be able to blend with most other styles. The only thing I didn't care for was the scroll worked headboard and the St. Charles chairs, But that's just my personal taste.

How to keep track of used furniture inventory? On a movie studio lot, warehouse, consignment store, people's basements? I have listed a web site that puts people and used furniture together. http://www.usedfurniturefindex.com Ecologically concientious because it supports recycling used furniture and used home furnishings. Check it out!

Candice Olson, is the BEST Interior Designer on HGTV. She does "design" correctly and as it should be...I think there are too many "Designers-Want to Be's" on HGTV that do things that give the homeowner(s) the 'wrong' idea of what design is!!!

I was at the show, and was really struck by the number of Chineese imports available, which led me to question the integrity of the finishes, as it pertains to lead. I just wonder if the government is looking at this? I understand that there ia an amount of lead in all finishes, but I question if it is regulated in some way.

The show is great....enjoyed seeing all that is new.

I love this new look of hollywood glamour. It's masculine with a feminine touch, as well as, feminine with a masculine touch. I can also incorporate pieces or accessories of this time and blend them to what I already have and refresh my home. Anything goes just choose carefully.

Posted by maria gietzen – October 4, 2007 3:42 PM

I love the Hollywood look and the white sofa. I do not like the bold print in the bedroom.

Posted by debbie – October 4, 2007 3:56 PM

I love the tux. chairs, and the scrollwork chairs. They look very beautiful, and very sturdy. I have two kids so sturdy is good. I would love to have that bedroom, but with a lock on the door so the kids can't destroy it.

Posted by Honey – October 4, 2007 4:44 PM

Grew up with some of the same, but this looks much better. I particularly like the Elaine chair and ottoman. I have to agree with Donna that it doesn't look very warm & inviting. Very classy, more for looks than comfort.

Posted by Barbara S Nivens – October 4, 2007 4:59 PM

This is why I am glad I live in down town High Point. You should see some the furniture they have on display. I was acutually able to get this beautiful two tone sofa and love seat set this year.

Posted by Emilienne – October 4, 2007 5:13 PM

Always happy to see that there is something for everyone and everyone's personal taste. Hollywood Glam is only for a select few, but I am glad to see it is evolving. When clients were asking me for Art Deco in the late 70's, I would cringe. It grew on me and am glad to see that it endured time. Good style is simply good style no matter what era. As far as what I would probably recommend for a client, only the Candice Olsen piece and possibly the Lexington Brands pieces. They struck me as being able to go the long haul.

Posted by Sherrie Hess-Anderson – October 4, 2007 7:32 PM

Wow! I guess it's true....what's old is new!

Posted by Dana – October 4, 2007 8:19 PM

I don't like to be a name droper but Thomasville has had the Hollywood look for several years now withthe Bogart Collection, very classy. Some of this stuff will never appeal to the masses.

Posted by Jim H. – October 4, 2007 8:41 PM

I'm all for the glamour. As for comfort, it really depends on your body type what will feel comfortable to you, so try before you buy! I have been in love with Julian Chichester's pieces for years now, but I still have to find the client who will go for it wholeheartedly... As for my bedroom, I have to admit it looks very much like the one in the pic with the Anna headboard.

Posted by bybinteriors – October 4, 2007 9:40 PM

Good Lord, I hope they keep their black and white chairs and bold stripes in Hollywood. Maybe people who pretend to be RICH can afford to change furniture styles on a whim just to impress other people of their own caliber. But the REAL rich I know would never have this "RETRO" in their homes and I know I wouldn't. Every one is entitled to an opinion and this is mine!!

Posted by Diana Walker – October 4, 2007 11:49 PM

I think the Century Winter Foliage Club Chair will look good in a bedroom or a livingroom.

Posted by inga – October 5, 2007 12:36 AM

That has to be the uglest stuff I have ever seen.. Someone needs to get some tast..

Posted by Sheryl – October 5, 2007 12:44 AM

This stuff looks miserably uncomfortable...Only one piece I would even have on my porch. Copying Chinese Chippendale is pathetic.

Posted by Bev – October 5, 2007 2:52 AM

Didn't like the look years ago and still don't. I like the classic traditional look and country cottage style of furniture. I suppose if a person has an art deco home this would work for it, but I personally don't like the look.

Posted by Deb – October 5, 2007 7:54 AM

Sorry, but I've never been a fan of the glam look. It simply doesn't look or feel like "home" in 99% of the homes in America. It may be fabulous, but the look needs to be in a large room in a Hollywood styled home to look like it belongs, and furnishings need to fit their surroundings to feel right. I'll stick with my traditional warmth.

Posted by John – October 5, 2007 8:08 AM

I have no imagination...that is why I watch your show..for my ideas..but I do like more modern/and comfortable furniture..not much for wallpaper, unless simple..

Posted by Ruth Williams – October 5, 2007 8:15 AM

I do not like the looks of the room with Julian Chichester's Anna headboard and Brighton bedside table. The bed cover and wall paper look awful together.

Posted by Debbie – October 5, 2007 10:24 AM

I feel so validated! I did my whole house in Deco Glam in the nineties when I lived in a 1940's house in Knoxville. I had a decorating business then and it wasn't easy to find the right pieces. What a bonanza now...though its easier on the feet to attend market in cyberspace. Love Candace's sofa and the ottoman w/ chippendale influence. The look that I can take from this for my move to the Tampa Bay area is deco with a tropical flair or Santa Monica chic. It could work don't you think?

Posted by Marcia – October 5, 2007 10:58 AM

I love anything Candice Olsen does, the woman is muey talented. Never miss a show of hers if it is at all humnaly possible. That Julian bedroom thing though is horrid! Is Julian color and pattern blind? Did someone pay for that? I sure hope not. I also like the Coggins and Smith sofa's, very elegant.

The Vanguard Sir Charles arm and side chairs have the wrong legs. Looks like Grandma's walker.

Posted by Jody – October 5, 2007 5:33 PM

I am ready for the world to show elegance and class. To get back to grace and manners. These romantic pieces make me think that might be possible.

If you like what you see in the Lola sofa by Candice Olsen, check out her entire furniture collection through Norwalk Furniture. I work in a Norwalk store and absolutely love everything in her collection. Go to the website and check it out. She also has a whole line of fabrics, lighting and area rugs! She is the best.

How much longer before this whole show is in Las Vegas? Seen what is being built there to accomodate the furniture and interiors industry??

The furniture has a clean look. With styles that can be used from modern, industrial to a victorian look and most look comfortable. Sometimes comfort needs to be ahead of style especially couples buying furniture for their home.

I prefer the victorian look, but I can see it is pure and simple and looks cleaner than the older victorian styles; I like that alot. The more modern look is more popular because of the X and Y generations and the industrial look that is so popular.

The jazzy patterns on some of the chairs would look good in a room designed with a sixty's flair in an updated modern decor. These furniture styles would look the best in condos, apartments, offices, lobbies, newer resort hotels and furnished places for rent.

The wheels on many legs make it easier to move for many circumstances this is a good thing for most. I, myself would like to see more style on the legs and/or shirted bottoms on some of the sofas with added cushion for comfort.

I just love the Century Tuxedo Wing Chair's richness. It demonstrates both fem. and masculinity.I melt over the pastel accenting as shown. The Century Scalloped Ottoman is a "to die for" piece.

This furniture is sexy. I feel like it grabs you and holds on tight.

I loved the pieces viewed, but you left out the most luscious leather pieces from Hancock & Moore Furniture. They are fabulous!

Posted by Anne Brown – October 7, 2007 6:31 PM

The clean lines demonstrate that upholstery doesn't have to huge and over-stuffed to be comfortable. Many of my clients don't live in huge houses and these pieces will work for them!

What's not to love. It is elegance and true class, romance and I love everything about it. It truly makes me want to put on a gown and gloves and wine and dine.

Thank goodness the furniture manufacturers are finally making good looking sofas. I have been looking, literally for years, for something that doesn't look like it belongs in a trailer park. Now I can finally have some furniture in my empty livingroom. I couldn't bring myself to buy the ugly stuff they were selling. I prefered having nothing than buy what was being offered. Now, after 7 years, my husband will be happy to have furniture in there.

I thought the patterened chairs looked HORRIBLE. Talk about tacky. Looks like someone found it them in a junk yard. What a waste!

I like Hollywood glamour as portrayed in the black and white early 1900's movies. I don't see that here...looks more like Hollywood trash, just like the stars of today. Except for Candice Olson's sofa none of it is very attractiveto me and that sofa is more for style than comfort.

I have some, I guess out of style plaid sofa's etc. Can't I incorporate this into something newer? I like the comfort of these pieces. I have lighter oak tables, mantel and TV console. My house is Spanish style but I don't carry the theme troughout the house. I love garnet and green and beige.

Hello,
I love the look of glamour. The furniture was a refreshing look to all the rooms. Just superb. However, in the Green room with the black and white furniture. It kind of looked a bit too "cold" to me. I think that it may be missing something. Just that little touch that may give it a bit of warmth, or coziness. Thank you all!

Candice Olsen would never do anything so ugly. She could make an outhouse look nice. Hate IT!

Although the black and white is very appealing and sexy, I personally lean more toward the Glam or Lola sofas with the Hays and Elaine chairs. An I love the Berkeley Chest and the Savoy Writing Desk. This era of furniture reminds me of when we wore more than jeans and having company over was a special event. This is not "hang-out" furniture. To me, it says comfortably elegant. I'm not much in for the shiny mirrored furniture though. Mirrored furniture doesn't say glam (to me) near as much as the curvy art-deco style. I've been watching HGTV for years and this is my most favorite collection yet! :-)

Great to look at -- design to appreciate -- but reminds me of the now passe "living room" that you dress up, walk by and look in but never use. I can just imagine my border collie and sheltie looking at these pieces and a bubble appears above their heads and it says, "What were you thinking when you brought in this stuff? You can't even find a soft spot to curl up and get comfy. How are we gonna nap on that???"

THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOME I'VE EVER SAW.FROM LIVING IN A FARM AND RANCH,2 BED ROOM WITH A UNFINNISHED BASEMENT.I HAVE M.S. NOW WITH BLOOD CLOTS IN MY LEGS.IT WOULD BE A FANTISY FOR ME IF I WON IT.IT IS MAGICAL.

Posted by LINDA MERCHANT – October 17, 2007 2:32 AM

this is amazing ....i loved it specially the hurmony of colours and it is warm meanwhile it;s modernشكرا

Posted by samia – October 18, 2007 7:33 PM

I think it is all ugly. It looks like something you would find in a hotel room or a fancy show off home; not something to be used on a daily basis and be comfortable with.

Posted by Sherry – October 22, 2007 3:34 PM

I did not care for any of it. furniture should be warm and comfortable not hard and cold. I am a rustic furniture maker--bent willow, diamond willow etc. I am looking forward to seeing the eco-friendly furniture.

Is there anyone that could help me with 2 matching pieces of bedroom furniture. Both pieces have a gold metal name tag which reads "Millennium Advanced Furniture Technology"?
Are they old or new or somewhere in between?
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you fr your time.
