I am very disappointed in this year's Dream home.

I think this home is so inviting. It makes you wish you were there even with all the snow!!! SNOW ME IN!!!!!!!
Posted by nancy s – January 8, 2007 8:39 PM
TOO MUCH BLUE !!!!!!!!!!!! SINCE THIS IS COLD COUNTRY, PROBABLY 65-70% OF THE YEAR... WARMER COLORS, IN MY OPINION, WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER..
THE DESIGN IS AWESOME... LOVED EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE COUNTERTOPS....

Disagree; lamps = restaurants & chairs isn't a cabin

It truely is our dream home. I can't wait to have a cold coors light around my new fire pit!!!!

Very Stylish!!!!!!

I think this home shows quality along with craftsmanship. The blue reminds me of the country and it is the perfect setting for the country style touches throughout. I could move right in and be happy for the rest of my life. The only thing I have ever won was a can of coffee when I was 4 years old, so I doubt my luck will change now.

Perfect house, very ski western design. Reminds me of old resort hotels in Yosemite, Yellowstone and Mt. Ranier State Park. Great job! We are trying to win for our daughter who lost her house in Katrina. She learned to ski at Winterpark years ago when she was four. Thanks for doing this each year, I hope you can continue this house each year.

This house is the one I have dreamed of for years. I just love the mountains and fresh
air. To live in this house would make me
forget all the urban/city living stress. I
just love it !!

It is a fantastic house in a fantastic setting.
I look forward each year to this event!

Great house in a beautiful place. Would love to fulfill my dream of living in Colorado in a beautiful house. Have been going every year since 1975 and would love to be able to call it home!!

The kitchen is too dark. The blue countertops aren't a good thing. Blue decrease the appetite, and if used in the kitchen it should be used sparingly.

This place is truely a Rocky Mountain High. The craftsmanship is wonderful. I love the master bedroom and bath. I could move right in and curl up by the fireplaces all winter long. We visted Colorado last Oct. and fell in love with the country. This would be a perfect retirement home.

I was not so impressed this year with the dream home. I showed this dream home to my grandson and he was actually scared of it. He didn't like all the woods and the heads of animals he said,"would make him have nightmares". I think your next dream home should be somewhere that is not so woodsy.

All who enter this Dream Home kitchen will definitely pull out a stool and sit down,

I absolutely love this home. I love the colors (especially the country blue, one of my favorites). I try to rememer to enter the contest everyday! I just retired and I could see myself being truly content in that home.

I think the home is AWESOME! Very warm and cozy feeling. I would have no problem settling right in with my friends and family in this Rocky Mountain High home. All that wood and light fixtures were very tastfully chosen.
Great Job HGTV!

This is "truly" (notice the spelling) a dream home. I have lived in a small condo all my adult life, and it would be just a dream to have a house. Gorgeous!!! I want it....

I think the doggie dream home is perfect. I'm in the veterinary feild and feel the dog house is important. HGTV always thinks of the whole family. I love everything about the "Home".

To wake up every morning and to see the Rocky Mountains is food for the soul. Thank you HGTV and the sponsors for allowing some very lucky family the chance to win this exquisite home with a majestic view!!!

Once again, I love the dream house. After Christmas I start looking forward to watching the Dream House special on New Year's Day. Our kids and dogs would love this house.
Posted by Denise Carruthers – January 16, 2007 8:34 PM
We love everything about the dream home. Blue is our favorite color. The location in the mountains is awesome. Our son and family live in Denver. It would be wonderful to be able to be closer to them.
Posted by Scott & Shirley Long – January 17, 2007 8:38 AM
This house would deffinately be a dream come true. Many of our family members have moved to Colorado, as well as many of them already live there. It is our dream to move that way, but expect we will be saving for 20 years to do so. It would be amazing to win this beautiful home. We would live in it year round as I can work from home. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

An amazing home. As a young couple with a toddler and searching for 'the perfect home' in a low price range - we think this is immaculate... anyone would love to have such a place to call thier own! Great job to those who were involved in its design and construction!!

I LOVE THE HOUSE AND WOULD LOVE TO WIN SINCE MY SISTER AND BROTHER LIVE IN COLORADO AND I LIVE IN WEST VIRGINIA... THE HOUSE IS BEAUTIFUL
Posted by KATHY – January 17, 2007 10:55 PM
The house is nice but the blue counter tops look very 80's to me. With all that wood they should have used a warm tone or neutral countertop. You could add color with your accessories and not be stuck with blue (not everybody likes blue!!)
Posted by Lisa – January 18, 2007 9:33 AM
I think there should be no complaining. It is a beautiful home and I think anyone should be grateful to have it. Colorado is a beautiful place and it would be wonderful home to have your family in.
Posted by Kristin – January 18, 2007 3:45 PM
I just had blue put into my kitchen counters, I absolutely love them; and with the addition of those dishes and other blues and whites into it, ah, just a beauty of a kitchen. You can get so creative once you get into this color of toasty warmth with a white pot of chocolate and marshmellows, and some bunuelos..oh(toasty tortillas bathed in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon).
Posted by Juanita – January 18, 2007 6:15 PM
I don't care for Colorado since I live in Michigan and we get plenty of snow of our own. I wish the house would have been in a state with better weather I don't care for the decoration or style of the house either. We have plenty of that here in Mi. I wish they would have used brighter and happier colors. Too much dark wood also.
Posted by Claudia Goad – January 20, 2007 10:05 AM
Beautiful home I love the kitchen it is so big and inviting. The only downfall I seen is the location. I would not want to move so far away from my friends and family
Posted by Kelley Saulsgiver – January 20, 2007 6:16 PM
I could definetly see my Mississippi family in those hills!! Great job and so inviting!!
Posted by sharon – January 21, 2007 2:03 PM
i think the blue is great. my kitchen has a touch of navy and my family room which is open to the kitchen is in navy and oyster. i love it.
great house

I have been searching the website for a retirement home, and decided on the Denver area - then I found your contest a few weeks ago, and all I can say is.... what a place to exhale!!!!
It is the ultimate dream for this single Mom.

This is a extrordanary home, it has a touch of excitment as well as it is a conferting place to live. I wish everyone luck into winning and hope everyone the best.
Posted by Linda – January 23, 2007 6:25 PM
Now if only a winner could afford the house and stay in it. Maybe they should call it HGTV's dream resale home.
Posted by Lisa – January 24, 2007 8:39 AM
The colors of this kitchen blend together to make it a very beautiful and cozy place to be with family and cook up a delicious meal. The entire home looks comfortable and inviting, and the view through those windows is absolutely gorgeous.
Posted by Joyce – January 24, 2007 8:50 AM
The house is beautiful.I have never won anything in my life, but would love to have a change of luck now. I also thought every house built for dream home has been just fantastic. Thank You.
Posted by Tracy – January 24, 2007 4:50 PM
The home is beautiful ... even with the blue which is not my favorite color. So, to those of you complaining ... don't enter the contest! ... or, if you win, change the blue countertops!!!
Posted by Mary – January 25, 2007 11:04 AM
I think that this is the perfect family kitchen. The colors are Great! Hopefully I will get to see it a little closer!
Posted by Vicki – January 25, 2007 1:51 PM
Love the location, love the house, hate the decor in the living room. Hoped for more of a warm, cozy feeling which would draw you, family and friends around to chat and make memories.
Posted by Riene – January 26, 2007 9:46 AM
This is a classic! Well done! I love blue, the natural wood tones, it brings a comfort to me & my family. I feel very welcomed, like the feeling I used to get going to grandma's home. Very warm & comforting, just like her hugs, All is right in the world! Thank you for a job well done! We can't wait to stay & play in Winter Park!

My husband and I are both Colorado natives and have lived here all our lives...we love here and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The home this year is truely a dream and encompasses everything about Colorado living. It would be a dream come true to live among the beautiful Rockies.

We love love love the dream house. So warm , so inviting. Thoughtful decorating - exactly our taste. Our small family would be very happy there

Feb 1979, My husband and I honeymooned in Colorado (skiing), We always said we would bring our children there someday! Maybe even relocate. Years later it would be wonderful (a dream of ours) to live there. I love the colors, the architect, the Views of the mountains. WE love to ski, and can see ourselves with lots of friends and family that would enjoy it with us. Thanks for airing this - even if it just gave me a month of wonderful dreams.
Posted by Doreen Johnson – January 29, 2007 12:13 PM
Overall the house is very nice. Who wouldn't want to own it? However, I agree with many of the previous respondents regarding the use of blue. Blue is not appropriate for a home in the Colorado mountains. The home has a 'country feel' not a mountain feel - big difference. Next time HGTV builds a house in the West, they should pick a designer who understands that difference. More appropriate interior design would have made the house spectacular.

Love the house in the Mountains! I find my spirit in the Mountains. My daughter lives in Littleton, CO finishing College, we are already making plans to share the house!

Looking at the pictures of this house, I could just imagine having my whole family together for the Holidays! It would be great to sit around one of the many fireplaces with a cup of hot chocolate and warm fuzzy slippers watching the wildlife out the amazing windows. What a lucky person to win this dream house of many!
Posted by Laura – February 2, 2007 8:18 PM
Love the home, but we like many of your viewers could not afford to keep it! Why not design something in a beautiful location, but a little more practical for the average family.
Posted by Bernadette – February 5, 2007 8:12 AM
Having lived in Colorado for 20 years, the outside amazingly reflected the environment. Questioned all the blue inside though. Would love to move back someday.

Hubby and I are retired, living a fixer-upper. Too late for us to start over. I want the dream home for my son and his family. He is an under-paid math prof. They are in a fixer-upper and could use a new start. It really is a dream home
Posted by Philipsnana – February 5, 2007 11:08 AM
The Dream Home is truly a Dream Home as far as my husband and I are concerned. We watched the tour of the home on HGTV together. We were WOWED! I lived in Colorado for 6 years before we were married. We used to travel to Colorado every year to ski but as the family grew and got older and the grandchildren came along it has gotten harder and harder to pick a time that there is good snow for skiing and we can all get away at that specific time. We are looking so forward to winning that Dream Home! We are just 5 years away from retirement, we have 6 grown children and so far 9 grandchildren with more to come. What a lovely place for the family to come for Holidays and vacation. We are an outdoor family with horses for trailriding and love skiing. We loved everything about the "country log home". What a great job! Jeanne

ENTERS COULD WIN IT FOR THEIR FAMILY BUT I HOPE
OUR FAMILY IS SO BLESSED!

Evey year my husband and I look forward to the Dream Home that HGTV comes up with. It is very gracious of everyone involved. Who wouldn't want to live in one of the most beautiful states and be able to retire there. We have often talked about retirement and this would be the perfect oportunity for it. Thank you for your graciousness and time and talent.

You could not have picked a more incredible location for this years dream home. I think you all have packed a lot of great extra's in evry room. The bunk room was also a great idea. Thank you for giving us great design ideas year after year.

As a kitchen designer, I have to comment! It's really blue! What I do like a lot are the lamps in the kitchen on the countertop. Practical- who knows, but warm and charming, yes! It's also quite eclectic, with the rustic stools and the contemporary refrigerator hardware, simple cabinet lines and te floor with great character to it. Eclectic design is very interesting to be surrounded by.
Posted by susan – February 7, 2007 8:10 PM
Love the house! The designers took a leap with the blue and I think it looks great. Not many people would be brave enough to try this on their own. But watch... blue will be the next black for 2007
Posted by Christy – February 9, 2007 1:01 AM
The house is beautifully decorated and stunning all on its own! Considering where and the way my husband and I have been living for the last two and half years the dog house appears more than inviting and probably a notch above our current digs!

I love the location, the blue in the kitchen, and all the rest of the beautiful house. The windows are beautiful. It would be magic and a retirement for me after years of nursing. You all did a great job.

I LIKE THE STYLE OF THE HOUSE, BUT IT SEEMS TOO DARK FOR A SKI & WOODS SETTING. I DON'T LIKE THE BLUE COUNTERTOPS IN THE KITCHEN-SHOULD BE A WARMER FEEL.
Posted by PAM GEYER – February 13, 2007 2:17 PM
The lamps are hideous, and I don't care for the plaid even if this IS a country style home. I like the blue, but there are so many better options for lighting that could have been used than those lamps. Even if lamps were acceptable for kitchen lighting, which in my opinion they are not, those are way too tall. Yuck.
