Summer's still a few weeks off, but the weather already holds the promise of heat and humidity. Maybe this will be the summer that I actually stay cool, though: I've recently discovered the most incredible new yarn that lowers your body temperature by a whopping 5 degrees! If this stuff works as well as I've heard it does, I think whoever invented it has done a great service to women of uncertain age everywhere — I mean, I'm talking a Nobel Prize or something!
It's one of the fibers that's featured in our yarn quiz on DIY — take our quiz here to find out which one. Since I haven't had the chance yet to actually make something out of the aforementioned *wondrous* yarn to be able to recommend it, here's Sally Melville's favorite summer sweater, which features a openwork panel that helps keep the wearer cool on even the hottest day.

I have used bamboo yarn and I think this will knit up great in bamboo or corn. I can't wait for the store to open up to go and buy some yarn to start this project today!!!Knit On!!!

what are the number of stitches for a grown up's sweater? I've been wanting a summer sweater for a long time. I'm a "medium" sized person.
