I was just nosing around in Share My Craft and noticed a decidely cute trend. You guys are posting lots of adorable kid-sized painted furniture. I can certainly understand why -- kids' furnishings beg for a little something extra. Every kid deserves a space all their own filled with lots of colorful and playful touches. The bonus to embellishing your child's furnishings is that with the addition of some paint, fabric or stencils you can inexpensively transform what may have been beat-up hand-me-down furniture into colorful pieces totally customized to suit your childs' tastes.
PaintingIsMyPassion's Rilee Chair. What a fun rocker for a little boy. Selecting a motif for boys' furnishings can be more difficult than selecting one for a girl. Transportation themes, like these 2 handpainted tractors, are always a safe bet.
Flamer's sweet Rose Rocker. Flamer writes that this little rocker was pretty beat up prior to being painted. Sturdy, well-made furniture that has seen its share of wear is a great candidate for a painted finish. Just fill in the worst scratches and dents with spackle or wood putty, sand smooth, then paint away and watch the dings disappear.
CuteCribs' adorable Froggie Crib. I love this one, seems a shame that the lucky baby who receives this crib won't be able to enjoy it for a longer period of time, definitely a candidate for a family heirloom.
BrazilianGirls' Little Boys' Fabric Covered Dresser Brazilian Girl takes thriftiness to a whole new level with this dresser, which she found for only $10 at a yard sale then covered in bits of cotton print fabric. Very cute, very clever and very cost-effective!
BrazilianGirl's Tissue-Covered Girls' Dresser Like the boys' dresser above, Brazilian Girl cleverly decorated a secondhand dresser with bits of tissue paper and hand-painted and stamped details.
