Show Off Your Crafts

If you haven't visited Share My Craft yet on HGTV.com, then you're missing out! You can browse other crafter's submissions, rate them and leave comments.

So many clever, cute and original craft ideas have been uploaded. Below are just a few of my favorites:

sock%20doggies.jpg
How cute are these pups? Made from cast-off socks and gloves, Shebrew's Adorable Sock Doggies are one of the cutest recycled crafts I think I've seen!

rockin%20birthday%20cake.jpg
Made to commemorate her brother's 30th birthday, Shay123's Rockin' Birthday Cake was obviously a labor of love and sculpting, then painting, the fondant required a good bit of artistic finesse.

quilt%20slipcover.jpg
The quilt used to create Autum's Recycled Quilt Slipcover and Pillow was worn through in several places and generally had seen better days. By recycling it intto a chair cover and throw pillow, she was able to preserve the best parts of the quilt and add a fun, colorful pop to a thrift store chair.

cowgirl%20tote.jpg
Yee-ha! Jamie's Cowgirl Tote Bag demonstrates a great way to use up any brightly-colored and kitschy (but small) bits of fabric you may have lying around.

Have a craft project you want to show off? Well, we want to see it! Whether you're a knitter, painter, potter, scrapbooker, seamstress or just super creative — upload your ideas now!

Hi Suzanne,

I'm glad that you liked the Cowgirl Tote, maybe Jamie, the crafter who made the tote, will see your sweet comment and send in some instructions to go with it, in the meantime, I'll look for a tote bag tutorial to post in a future blog entry.

Thanks!

When will HGTV bring back craft shows for TV? I miss shows like Carol Duval and the like and of course the quilting shows. I miss all my old time favorites. Would you guys like to please the viewers?

Please......more craft shows. Love the shows like deisign on a dime and the other shows where they make things from scratch. where did Crafts across America go? And the y girl who did all the crafts in her back yard? Carol Devall is great but she only lasts 1/2 hour. :(

I'm with Ruth get us some crafts shows I am getting
tired of the redo shows. have some in the evening when those who work can enjoy. I love all kinds of
crafts. Make the sessions long enough you can get it not rush to the next project. I would rather see one good instruction than a half dozen rush throughs/

I agree that we need some more craft shows in the evening. I love Carol Duvall, but can only watch when I'm on vacation or sick.

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I do like the remodeling shows such as Design on a Dime and Decorating Cents -- not so much for the 'remodel' in and of itself, but because the designers include relatively inexpensive and small scale DIY projects which lend character and add a personal touch. (Things I'm sure I'd never have thought of on my own!)

More craft shows! Not everyone is interested in re-decorating OR needs to buy a house ALL the time! The housing bubble burst but the shows keep coming, ad nauseum. We need more re-cycle shows, more energy efficient shows, and more make-it-with-your-kids shows. My children watch Creative Juice and Carol Duvall with me, and it is a pleasure to see how interested they are.

Wow! I agree with every post I just read. Enough of the Re-do, make-over's. Decorating Cents is a top hit with me because they take the time to show you what they make and explain a little on how to do it.

Why can't we get another Carol Duval show going? But take a half hour to show the how's & why's of each craft.

And please, what is up with the That's Clever show? I can't watch it! The camera man makes me dizzy and sick, I want to watch how they make something, not how stupid silly the artist thinks they can be. It insults my intelligence to think I need to have spinning camera shots and repeating scenes to keep me interested. It does quite the opposite, I turn the channel off now when it goes on.

I love santa, elves, and holiday dolls. I paper mache them, build wire armatures, stuff, clothe and polymer clay faces, feet and hands. I make them out of driftwood and clam shells. I love to paint. I crochet. I have many interests. Why can't we have some of these? There are plenty of doll artist's out there, let's hear from them.

I love the cowgirl tote. I would even be interested in making one for myself. I think it would be a great accessory for my laptop computer to travel with. After all, not all of us like the ordinary briefcase, or backpack look.

Just think, I could make several to match my moods and where I may be heading with the laptop. :)

Think we can convince Jamie to give us the instructions?

I agree with everyone----I want more craft shows. If some were on in the evenings, I'd watch them. It's the same old thing at night, buying, selling and fixing up houses. Boring! Right now, HGTV is repeditive in the evenings. I don't watch it. Only turn it on during the day. More crafts please!!!!!!

I would also like to know when you are going to have craft shows on hgtv again? I really miss Carol Duvall and Aileen. I get tired of all the house shows you have on.

We need to get some craft shows back again! Sounds like everyone agrees and has for a long time! I sure hope that they will listen to the readers soon!
I agree with ya'll! Diana

Please more craft shows.. Also normal houses that with a few real people making a difference. Not everyone is in a million dollar home. I agree with the rest, who of us can do the makeovers for $1000.00, we don't have 2 carpenters & seamstress& designer. Help us real people "START AT HOME.
