Easter Ideas

Posted by camille – April 3, 2007 5:16 PM

Spring has sprung and Easter is almost here — welcome it with these seriously cute and colorful crafts!

I love these adorable Cashmere Bunnies on Betz White's blog. She has graciously taken the time to write a tutorial so we can all make our own. Cashmere is, of course, a little pricy so feel free to substitute any cuddly material of your choosing. Many more great tutorials can be found at Craftster.org. This beautiful Fabric Flower would be the perfect finishing touch for your Easter finery.

Expecting guests for Easter dinner? Then you might want to make these cheery Easter Egg Place Card Holders and matching Easter Egg Centerpiece or great (and very diet-friendly) Faux Sweet Centerpieces, Topiaries and Napkin Rings

Looking for crafty Easter ideas for the kiddies? Well, I've got you covered! Kids will love making these Tie-dyed or Sponge-Painted Eggs. The folks at Kids Domain warn that these projects are a bit messy, but aren't all the fun things in life?! They warn that you should have plenty of paper towels at the ready, which is always sage advice when crafting with kids. I'd also advise that the kids (especially little ones) wear plastic ponchos and you work on a plastic-covered or stain-proof surface. This last project, Bunny Ears Visor, should be a lot less messy and would be a fun addition to either the kids' or the family pet's Easter day photos.

Hello! I would like to be part of your show, "That's Clever". I'm a designer and create Personalized bagtags for any age group, that carries any type of bags.

Come visit my website, www.bagtagsusa.com to get a full idea of my unique, practical, durable and creative bagtags. I wanted to create something that would prevent bag mix-up in schools, airports and basically to add character and personality to their bags.

Feel free to reach out to me for any questions or interest.

Thanks much,
Lizzette Lansang

Hi, I wish there was an HGTV show that covered crafts that have guilds such as sewing (American Sewing Guild, crocheting (Crochet Guild of American), knitting (The Knitting Guild Association), and so on. You could take a show and each day of the week have a different type of skill/craft with the fibers. These are great places for any age, male or female to learn new or refresh their skills. This show could be all about fibers. Then there could be another craft show that would cover paper crafts, and so on. The possibilities are endless and I wish HGTV and the public could team up on this effort. The home shows are great, but not everyone is in need of those. Many people are home bound or want to start or refresh hobbies in their spare time and the type shows I mentioned would allow the education to occur. I personally have used Knitty Gritty and Uncommon Threads to inspire me to make more items for charity. However, Uncommon Threads is no longer played.

Anyway, just thought I would share my thoughts. Thank you, Julie
